Star 2025 Bryce Heard Talks Junior Season and Recruiting
Homewood Flossmoor 2025 shooting guard Bryce Heard Bryce Heard 6'6" | SG Homewood Flossmoor | 2025 State #86 Nation IL is turning it up a notch as we head down the stretch. The #2 overall junior in the state has his Vikings as one of the top teams in the state and a legit state title contender. Heard is playing his best basketball as we recently saw him drop 26 points against Bolingbrook where his feathery jumper was on point hitting shots all over the floor. We saw him again against the top team in Indiana in Fishers where despite the loss he notched 19 points showing off his athleticism and ability to get downhill in both the half court and transition. Also rebounding at a high clip! We chatted with Heard about his return campaign to Illinois!
“The season has been good and exciting. Our crowds have been good and we are playing good basketball. Coach JD has been on us. We have a good in-state records.”
The matchups in the south suburbs this year have been must watch with them racking up monster wins one after another.
“The Thorton games were big. We came up big in The Dipper getting the job done there. Then played them again recently and beat them. Friday night we played against Lincoln Way East and came back from down 10 with six minutes to go. I think we have been finding ways to get the job done.”
It seems like he is looking to be more assertive on the offensive end as of late.
“I am trying to stay aggressive. I have been trying to get on the boards and that gets me going. Get a couple of easy offensive rebounds and that gets me going early.”
What is the latest with recruiting?
“Villanova is more interested. I haven’t gotten an offer yet. Arkansas, Georgia, USC, Oklahoma State, and NC State are all heavily in the mix.”
He spoke about a few schools he wants to get out to for visits and in many cases return trips when time permits.
“I know I want to go back out to Georgia, Arkansas, USC, and NC State.”
Seems like this core group of five schools mentioned are going to be in the mix for his services until the end as they have really made him a priority.
