Having firmly established himself as one of the most dynamic guards here in the state of New Jersey bringing a confident and versatile playmaking presence every time he has the ball in his hands. Brown plays the game with toughness and physicality, ultimately showing strong command of the offense while dictating tempo and that was evident with his decision making ability— particularly in transition, with his open floor playmaking, pushing the tempo for crafty finishing evading defenders, finding lane runners, and absorbing contact to generate ample trips to the free throw line. A legitimate threat to score the basketball from all three levels, Brown also flashed his shot creation ability, creating separation off the bounce and knocking down shots off the dribble from different areas on the floor.

Among the handful of best and most underrated guards in the state, Brown seemingly had the game in the palm of his hands from start to finish. He played with a grace and calm confidence that would have you think he was playing in the park as opposed to in a state championship game. Brown operated at his own pace off the dribble , blending in downhill drives with a series of smooth pullups or stepbacks out to the arc. The future Fairfield guard finished with 26 points to capture the state title and looks to be a true steal heading to the MAAC next year.

does. The Fairfield commit plays with noticeable pace, fearless confidence, and a high level of command of the offense, very often dictating the tempo while stressing defenses as a legitimate creator. Smooth off the bounce, Brown got to his spots with decisiveness, converting on a number of soft touch mid range pull up jumpers while also showcasing his perimeter shooting touch off the catch, with deep range accuracy, burying a number of open looks from the outside. With his court awareness and decision making highlighting his value as a true floor general, Brown also made a handful of sharp reads with the ball in his hands, generating clean looks for cutters and open shooters.

Facing off against nationally-ranked SPIRE Academy (OH), Brown made it clear from the jump that Bergen had no plans of backing down. The Fairfield pledge came out hot, scoring 11 of the Crusaders’ first 13 points, highlighted by a trio of deep 3s that hit nothing but the bottom of the net. He would go on to show his smooth pullup game and budding dribble-drive attack on his way to 18 points on the night. Brown continues to track as a potential steal heading to the MAAC.

is a cerebral lead guard who routinely demonstrates strong command of the offense— largely due to his overall dynamic playmaking ability coupled with his strong feel for the game as a balanced and savvy scorer and a facilitator. Possessing a unique ability to make things happen at any given moment, Brown remained a threat to score, with efficiency, while also being a decisive and reliable facilitator— attacking closeouts for physical drives and tough finishes in traffic at the basket while also demonstrating his feel in the PnR, particularly as a scorer in key moments down the stretch, converting on tough drives in the lane and showcasing his soft shooting touch, hitting smooth turn around fadeaways in the mid range area off the bounce.

Brown was a tough, physical guard who consistently controlled the pace of the game and played with poise. He dictated tempo in the half court, getting his team organized and making sure they got quality possessions. He did a great job using his strength and change of speed to get downhill and draw fouls, living at the free throw line. His high IQ stood out with how he read coverages and made the right decision possession to possession. Brown also showed he can score safely and efficiently, never forcing shots or hunting bad looks. When the defense gave him space, he made them pay, and when they pressured him, he stayed composed. Overall, he looked like a winning lead guard who can manage a game while still being a reliable scoring threat.

delivered a standout performance Saturday afternoon that displayed both his versatile scoring prowess and decisive playmaking. Aggressive from the start and settling into a nice rhythm offensively, Brown got going from the perimeter with his lethal shot making ability both creating space off the bounce and as a standstill shooter. Brown also mixed in an array of strong finishes at the rim through contact and in between area floaters in the painted area. An interesting aspect of Brown’s game has also been his low post scoring as a guard, flashing his ability to score down low, backing down smaller defenders in the low post. Operating as Bergen Catholic’s primary ball handler, Brown also displayed his facilitation ability, creating a handful of clean scoring chances for his teammates.

In a narrow win over Patrick School, Brown put together as scintillating an individual performance as we saw all day, pouring in nearly half his team’s points and showing notable growth in the process. As he typically does, Brown came out aggressive, showcasing improved strength and athleticism attacking the basket for a number of strong finishes before getting going from the perimeter with his effortlessly compact shooting stroke. In addition to his physical growth, Brown looked to be more advanced as a ballhandler and playmaker for others than we had seen from him in the past. Continuing to trend up, Brown looks to be one of the more under-recruited guards in the Northeast as mid-major programs should be monitoring him closely.
