On Thursday night Downingtown West traveled to Coatesville for a contest between two teams that are currently in the hunt for District 1 playoff spots.

After a slow start by both teams, Coatesville's [player_tooltip player_id='1850287' first='Zuri' last='Harris'] got hot and helped produce a 22-15 lead for his squad at the end of the 1st quarter. Coatesville maintained that lead throughout the 1st half.

In the 3rd quarter Coatesville turned up the full court pressure, forcing a slew of turnovers by DWest. Their lead ballooned to 20 points. DWest recovered and eventually cut into that lead, but they never really threatened to overtake Coatesville. In the end Coatesville won 63-52.

Below is a review of the college prospects who impressed us in the Downingtown West (7-8; 3-3) at Coatesville (10-4; 5-1) game last night.

Downingtown West

[player_tooltip player_id='1379429' first='Donovan' last='Fromhartz'] – 6'4″ / 2025 / [program_tooltip program_id='2078697' first='Philly' last='Pride'] UAA / Small Forward: This talented stretch-4 prospect was coming off an outstanding 34-point effort. So, he was getting extra defensive attention from Coatesville last night. Still, Fromhartz scored at every level on his way to 13 points (1 three). Fromhartz's rebounding abilities are underrated. He holds an offer from Albany.

Antonio Lewis – 5'10″ / 2024 / [program_tooltip program_id='2078677' first='Downingtown' last='Heat'] Elite / Point Guard: It was a quiet scoring night for Lewis (2 pts) in what has been an outstanding senior campaign. His is a poised primary ball handler who can play in transition and direct half court sets.

[player_tooltip player_id='2427329' first='Isaiah' last='Hicklen'] – 6'2″ / 2027/ [program_tooltip program_id='2078697' first='Philly' last='Pride'] UAA / Combo Guard: Hicklen is a freshman to watch for the remainder of the 2023-24 season. This athletic guard is quick, owns tight handles and can score from anywhere on the court. He popped two 3-balls on his way to 12 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1601167' first='Zeke' last='Staz'] – 6'7″ / 2025 / [program_tooltip program_id='2078682' first='K-Low' last='Elite'] / Small Forward: Staz is an intriguing hybrid-forward prospect with a versatile offensive game. His length and frame enable Staz to operate on the interior. However, he is athletic and moves well too. Thus, he can play also play on the perimeter for stretches. Staz (6 pts.) is a plus rebounder and decent rim protector too.

Coatesville

[player_tooltip player_id='1576717' first='Larry' last='Brown'] – 6'6″ / 2026 / [program_tooltip program_id='2078682' first='K-Low' last='Elite'] / Power Forward: Brown is a long and fast athlete with great instincts. He thrives in the open court. In the half court, he is a solid high post threat, does a respectable job in pick-n-roll action and can work the offensive glass for buckets. Brown scored 5 points in this contest.

[player_tooltip player_id='1379430' first='Amon' last='Fowlkes'] – 5'10” / 2025 / [program_tooltip program_id='2322977' first='610' last='City'] / Combo Guard: Fowlkes registered only 6 points in this game, but his impact went well beyond the scoring column. His elite quickness and superb defensive skills were a key part of Coatesville's full court press that turned this game into a lopsided affair. Plus, Fowlkes is an excellent facilitator off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='1850287' first='Zuri' last='Harris'] – 5'11” / 2024 / PA Coalition / Combo Guard: Harris is a multi-skilled guard who put Coatesville on his back in the 1Q. He scored 9 of his 11 points (2 threes) in that opening stanza. In addition to scoring, Harris produced several steals, dropped dimes, rebounded, and brought an incredible energy to the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1990914' first='Dior' last='Kennedy'] – 6'3” / 2024 / PA Coalition / Combo Guard: Kennedy isnearly automatic from deep, but last night he only laced one 3-ball during his 22-point outburst. Kennedy used his creative handles to navigate through DWest defenders for scores at the rim all night. He also converted on a host of transition opportunities. Kennedy's stop-and-pop game was impressive too. College coaches are sleeping on this dynamic guard with size and all the skills to needed to have an impact at the next level.

Marquis Peoples – 6'1” / 2024 / [program_tooltip program_id='2078678' first='East' last='Coast Power'] / Combo Guard: Peoples (5 pts.) is well known as an off the dribble scoring threat with a polished mid-range game. Last night he also displayed a feathery 3-point stroke, played tenacious defense, and handed out a few timely dimes.
