6-9 2024 Thornton (IL) (pictured) In a non EYBL Scholastic EYBL Showcase game. The Illinois commit quickly showed why he was the best big man playing on the weekend. Is a skilled all around player. However I like the fact that he seems to know his role and embraces it. An old school traditional back to basket post. Establishes deep position and just just pins defenders down on the block. Has good hands and gets it up to the rim quickly. That being said, he is also very patient in the post. Waits for the double team and passes out of it well. If it doesn’t come. He goes to work. Finishes softly over both shoulders. Unless he is dunking. Hit a three and he has the foot speed to play on the perimeter when needed. But it wasn’t needed much. Finished with 21 points and 8 rebounds in the victory Richmond Heights (OH). These weren’t empty stats as the team from Cleveland area featured one to top players nationally in the 2026 class Tj Crumble
Nigel James 6-0 2025 Long Island Lutheran (NY) Looks like next up in the long lineage what is known as the “New York City Point Guard”. A tough as nails prospect who has everything but size. Finishes easily at and above the rim at six feet tall. Gets anywhere on the perimeter with a tight handle. Balances playmaking responsibilities with scoring well. Was more of scorer in Friday afternoon action. Finished with a game high 22 points.

6-4 2025 Richmond Heights (OH) Jones provided glimpses of the skill set thar has made him an elite national recruit. Started the game by showing quick hands at the top of a press. Used his length to get into passing lanes. Turned defense into offense quickly. Taking one steal from an emphatic dunk. Also showed a smooth and easy release from beyond the arc. Showed excellent body control and hang time. Comporting his body into unique finishing positions at times. Finished with a team high 15 points in the loss.

to 15 points. Athletically has the ability to play with anyone and showed it on Jones. Was aggressive and showed excellent lateral quickness to stay in front of players. Offensively got off to a bit of slow start. However a huge second half dunk seemed to get him going. Moved with purpose off the ball and found open spots. Shoots it well from the mid range and beyond the arc. However the next level athleticism is his calling card. Had a huge lane-to-lane euro step finish that not many players can pull off. Finished with 18 points in the victory.
Kaden Magwood 6-1 2025 Oak Hill Academy (VA) Two summers ago. Magwood ran with an absolutely loaded Mac Irvin Fire squad. While other players seemed to drawing more attention at the time. I kept being drawn to the speed and suddenness of the Louisville area guard. Might not be the single fastest player in the class. However I would put his rate of acceleration up against anyone. The explosive first step makes him an elite “zero to sixty” prospect. Doesn’t waste much time with probing dribbles. Is decisive and knows what he wants to do offensively. Is able to fall away and hang in the air on his jump shot effectively. Had an excellent weekend for Oak Hill. Finishing with 20 and 21 points respectively in two victories. Sitting in the back half of most top 100 national rankings. I think he should be higher. He might get there with a big summer.
