The Notre Dame commit showcased his ability to attack off the bounce and in the open floor and his ability to effect the game defensively. He was another standout in the Myers Park High backcourt in producing 15.0 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 2.7 SPG and 2.3 APG on 42.9 percent shooting from the floor. As he improves on his ability to knock down shots on the perimeter, he’ll be a force to be reckoned with for the Mustangs in their run to another state title.
The George Mason commit was impressive as a utility player on the perimeter for Christ School at the John Wall Holiday Invitational. He was pivotal in their victory over Word of God in knocking down two 3-pointers and saved the best for last in producing 12 points and seven rebounds in the Bracket Championship game against Myers Park. He’s another lengthy slashing presence who’s starting to find his confidence as an off-the-ball threat and as he finds his way defensively, he’ll continue to climb up the radar.
Highlights
Burton was a standout in the perimeter attack for Moravian Prep as they went 2-1 at this year’s John Wall Holiday Invitational. He finished with eight made 3-pointers across their three games, shooting 8-of-16 from behind the arc. He opened things up with a 4-of-7 shooting performance on the perimeter with 16 points and five rebounds in their victory over Enloe. He cooled a bit as a double-figure scorer but he still managed to make another four 3-pointers, two apiece in their two games following their victory over Enloe High. He’s a sharpshooting threat for DII and DIII programs in the region to check out at Moravian Prep.
Alex Olander Alex Olander 6’4″ | SF Millbrook | 2024 State NC is a name who’s flown under the radar over the past few months as a new face in the Millbrook High frontcourt. He’s worked well alongside their other returning pieces to show he can be a presence on the scoring and rebounding front. He finished with 17.7 PPG, 5.7 RPG and 1.3 APG across their three games in the event. He’s an underrated scoring threat who’s really starting to find his confidence all over the floor with Millbrook High. He shot 62.5 percent from behind the arc and 58.3 percent from the floor despite his squad going 1-2 at this year’s John Wall Holiday Invitational. He’s a prospect for DII and DIII prospects to get eyes on with his abilities at the forward spot.
Chris Rhodes Chris Rhodes 5’11” | CG Farmville Central | 2024 State NC is an underrated guard in the 252 area out of Farmville Central High who put up impressive production in this year’s John Wall Holiday Invitational. He didn’t force things on the perimeter and had his best shooting day against Reidsville High, going 3-of-4 from deep and 6-of-10 from the floor to finish with 19 points. He put up 12.3 PPG, 5.3 RPG and 1.0 SPG on 55.6 percent shooting from deep and 59.1 percent from the field as the Jaguars went 2-1 in the event. He showed he isn’t afraid to defend the ball and competes at a high level on both ends. He’s one underrated name for DII and DIII programs to get to know in the Farmville Central High rotation as they look to win another state title on the 2A stage.

Tyler Whitehurst Tyler Whitehurst 6’1″ | CG Farmville Central | 2024 State NC is another name in the Farmville Central High backcourt for DII and DIII programs to get to know following his performance at the John Wall Holiday Invitational. He had a rough shooting display to open things up against Reidsville High as the Jaguars took their first loss of the 2023-24 season. He bounced back though in a big way in their final two games as he went 8-of-12 from deep and averaged 19.5 PPG on 66.7 percent shooting from deep in their final two victories. He’s a strong combo guard with the ability to score the ball in a variety of ways and defends with a ton of energy. He isn’t afraid to play the passing lanes and force turnovers. He had four steals against Broughton High in their victory on Day 2.
