Burton was a standout in the perimeter attack for Moravian Prep as they went 2-1 at this year’s John Wall Holiday Invitational. He finished with eight made 3-pointers across their three games, shooting 8-of-16 from behind the arc. He opened things up with a 4-of-7 shooting performance on the perimeter with 16 points and five rebounds in their victory over Enloe. He cooled a bit as a double-figure scorer but he still managed to make another four 3-pointers, two apiece in their two games following their victory over Enloe High. He’s a sharpshooting threat for DII and DIII programs in the region to check out at Moravian Prep.

Burton is another mover from the state of Tennessee as he joins Moravian Prep on the OTE scene. He’s a savvy guard who should boost the bench presence of the Moravian backcourt given his ability to knock down shots and create opportunities. Columbia has offered him.

The 5-10 rising senior point guard plays an exceptional role on both sides of the floor whether it’s running the primary point guard position or playing off the ball. Burton is also a sensational shooter when it comes to shooting the 3 ball. In his first season for IMG Academy, Burton averaged nearly five assists per game as he loves to play unselfishly and get his teammates involved. Burton will be playing this spring and summer with Philly Pride, as part of the Under Armour Association.

Many young, talented guards have a hard time being their most effective coming off the bench, but that’s no issue for Ty. As the 6th man and closer, he averaged 9.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and made 11 of 29 threes (6 games). The on-ball juice he brings gives his team a boost whether he scores the ball or not.
