Prep Hoops Florida is taking a look at the preseason all-state teams for the upcoming season. We have a lot of new faces in new places this season and are excited to tip-off next month. Here are some of the top players to watch for in Class 7A this season:
Cameron Boozer, A 6-9 junior power forward is arguably one of the top ranked recruits in the nation, according to multiple recruiting services. Boozer can do it all on the offensive end whether it’s his scoring from the perimeter or finishing at the front of the rim on the attack. He is also a dominate rebounder on both ends of the floor where he uses his strength finishing off put-backs and dunks at the rim. He is arguably one of the top defensive players to watch as well as he gets steals and chase-down blocks showing off his length and great footwork abilities. He is the only player in the state to lead his team in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks as a sophomore last season.
Cayden Boozer, A 6-5 junior combo guard can be impactful on the offensive end of the floor with his playmaking and high IQ. Boozer has a nice release on his jump shot that he can knock down whether he’s contested or left with space to operate. He can also finish at the front of the rim off drives and is unafraid to finish with contact getting to the free throw line. On the defensive end, Boozer is very versatile when it comes to guarding multiple positions showcasing his great footwork and ability to read the passing lanes.
Jalen Reece, A 6-1 junior point guard who runs the floor exceptionally well when it comes to initiating the offense gets his teammates involved and is a dead-eye shooter. Reece is unfazed when it comes to defenses applying pressure on him as has great ball-handling skills. Reece is also an above-average on the ball defender where he can make plays happen forcing steals and rips to turn into baskets on the offensive end. Reece holds offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Kansas State, Louisville, UCF and several others.
Isaac Celiscar, A 6-6 senior combo guard who can occasionally play out on the wing. Celiscar is a natural-gifted athlete who does a great job at winning the 50-50 balls and is a strong finisher when it comes to scoring around the rim. He is also an effective passer who sees the floor exceptionally well who doesn’t tend to make many mistakes on the offensive end. He provides a ton of length where he can battle for positioning on the glass at both ends of the floor limiting the opposition from getting second chance scoring opportunities. Celiscar is currently committed to Yale University.
Chalier Torres, A 6-4 senior guard spent the summer playing international ball for the Puerto Rico U17 National Team. He has been effective when it comes to scoring from beyond the arc as he has strong instincts on when to shoot versus pass the ball. He has also become more confident when it comes to scoring on the attack finishing at the rim through traffic. He also adds a variety of tools on the defensive end where he can guard positions 1 through 4 at a high level with his impressive footwork out on the perimeter.
Highlights
Tyler Johnson, A 6-6 senior small forward has seemingly become a tough matchup when it comes to defending the rim, as he can score with his length as well as off the dribble from the mid-range. Johnson has improved his confidence in shooting from the perimeter as well as that has seemed to improve since the summer. His defensive work has also continued to improve with his ability to guard positions 1 through 4 as he showcases elite footwork out on the perimeter as well as inside the paint. Johnson is also a good timely rebounder who doesn’t allow the opposition to get a second look very often. Johnson is a Virginia Tech commit.

Jones does a great job at controlling the game where he sees the floor exceptionally well on when to shoot versus pass. On the defensive end, Jones does a great job at reading the passing lanes where he can be an absolute disruptor. He can also reach around and get steals from opposing guards and is an accurate passer when it comes to kick-outs in transition. He will be worth keeping an eye on this upcoming season, as he is starting to gain interest from college coaches.
