GWC: Fun Thursday Matchups

Let's take a look.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Dixie vs Layton</strong> || @ 6PM American Fork High School</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dixie is one of the best teams in the state and they play year round as they play with so much chemistry. Layton has one of the better backcourts in the state and things should get interesting because they matchup well. few key matchups to watch is [player_tooltip player_id='1057040' first='Mekhi' last='Martin'] (Layton) and [player_tooltip player_id='1391447' first='Jordan' last='Roberts'] (Dixie). Both solid at the point guard position but Mekhi might have a size strength but Jordan is shifty and a true PG so he will be looking to distribute and create. Another key matchup will be [player_tooltip player_id='1057041' first='KJ' last='Miller'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1115966' first='Logan' last='Weidauer'], two really strong and solid guards that can do a lot. Logan has some height and he likes to play inside and out and KJ is a perimeter problem. The key will be if Layton can stop [player_tooltip player_id='1185179' first='Kyle' last='Lemke'] and that might be the key there. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Lone Peak vs. Highland</strong> || @ 7PM American Fork High School </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is a good game and Highland should have an edge with Lone Peak missing their two best players in [player_tooltip player_id='1146663' first='Ike' last='Staley'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1146666' first='Chamberlain' last='Burgess']. I would feed [player_tooltip player_id='1551411' first='George' last='McConkie'] all day long as he is a 6'10 big that can really make everyone suck in and then it will allow Highland's guards to do damadge. Look to see a heavy dose of [player_tooltip player_id='1278450' first='Isaiah' last='Drisdom'] and LP might have their hands full with. This is alos a great opportunity for role players ot step up for Lone Peak including getting elevated play from [player_tooltip player_id='1316136' first='Jackson' last='Taylor']. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Orem vs GSP (Golden State Prep)</strong> || @ 8PM American Fork High School </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This will be the first time we get to see Orem play with a few new faces and the new face we are excited to see play is [player_tooltip player_id='1164726' first='Jax' last='Allen']. Jax can be a slashing machine that makes life easier for those aroundhim like [player_tooltip player_id='1260479' first='Chance' last='Dastrup'] who can shoot the ball and for [player_tooltip player_id='1278443' first='Anthony' last='Felesi'] who does it all. They will likely be missing [player_tooltip player_id='1278444' first='Kai' last='Wesley'] but either way it is going to be good to see what they can do against a solid Prep School team from Northern California. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Green Canyon vs. Herriman</strong> || @ 6PM American Fork High School</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Not the typical matchup but this 4A team is looking to make a move forward and they will be lead by [player_tooltip player_id='1057039' first='Jared' last='Anderson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1960181' first='Gavin' last='Crane']. On the flip side you have a new look Herriman team that everyone is excited to watch They have so many players that could hurt you like [player_tooltip player_id='1369726' first='Cale' last='Barclay'], [player_tooltip player_id='1278442' first='Carlo' last='Mulford'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1115963' first='Ike' last='Palmer'].
