Unlike the girls, who were sorted into three teams, the boys had roughly twice as many attendees as the girls. This meant they were sorted into six teams and the auxiliary gym at the home of the 7A Jaguars also had to be in use.
There were several from Team 1 that turned in impressive performances. Without further adieu, here is a look at who from said team did just that.
Cordairus Dixon Cordairus Dixon 5'7" Murphy | 2026 AL
Cordairus Dixon Cordairus Dixon 5'7" Murphy | 2026 AL
Dixon was difficult to contain throughout his time at this year’s Prep Hoops Alabama Top 250 Expo. It appeared if he was looking to score, the ball was only going in one direction – through the hoop. One key reason for why he is so hard to keep in check is because of how well he fuses together speed with ball handling capabilities. In addition to having a mentality to attack the rim, he can get creative with his passes and those can throw defenses for a loop. Expect Dixon to connect as well from attempts in the midrange. He stands at 5-foot-7 and wears the blue and gold uniform of the Panthers from 6A Murphy.
Jordan Lindsey Jordan Lindsey 6'1" | PG Buckhorn | 2025 AL
Jordan Lindsey Jordan Lindsey 6'1" | PG Buckhorn | 2025 AL
Lindsey displayed exactly why he was a key contributor in his sophomore season to a 2022-23 Buckhorn rendition that won its first ever state championship since the mid-1990s. He is listed at an even six feet and ran on the grassroots circuit with Team Person. If he has the ball outside of the perimeter, he is very likely to take and make his ensuing 3-point try. Lindsey will also attack the rim and getting to the free throw line is a byproduct of the game being physical and being played on contact. The Bucks only graduated a few seniors from last season, so Buckhorn has a golden opportunity to run it back.
Jayden Mangram Jayden Mangram 6'0" Murphy | 2025 AL
Jayden Mangram Jayden Mangram 6'0" Murphy | 2025 AL
Speaking of standouts from the 6A Panthers, Mangram and Dixon are used to playing on the same court together. Team Speights is the AAU team that he has participated with in the past. Defensively, he will match whoever he is guarding step for step and if that person happens to be a ball carrier, there is a chance he will become turnover prone. Mangram also displays his defensive development with his ability to collect steals and turn defense into offense. Shooting 3-pointers and excelling as a transition runner are two other strong elements to his overall game. He is also listed at an even six feet.
There is a theme developing here where standouts from 6A schools are putting forth impressive performances. Wood was the lone representative at this year’s Prep Hoops Alabama Top 250 Expo representing the Cougars of Clay-Chalkville. Prior to the Cougars, he played at a 5A school in Ramsay that had a 26-7 record last season en route to a semifinal berth in the state tournament. The 5-foot-10 standout has participated in his travel basketball with Bama Celtics. When looking at how he plays, it should be no wonder why he made the top 55 of our updated 2026 rankings for Alabama.
Jackson Ramsey
Jackson Ramsey
Just as Murphy was well-represented on this team, so was Buckhorn. Ramsey, similar to Lindsey, also plays for the 6A team out of New Market. He is listed at 6-foot-2. Ramsey primarily operates as a shooting guard in the backcourt. His height is a reason why he can get versatile with his talents and log productive minutes as either a three or four forward in the backcourt. Look out for when he has the ball right behind the 3-point arc as he is likely to take – and make – his tries from long range. Ramsey was another important piece in Buckhorn’s run to the 6A state crown last season.
