Glue Guy Spotlight : 2018 Brock Schreiner
Not many players have risen their stock this past summer like Brock Schreiner. The kid just finds a way to make winning plays which is what makes him worthy of the Glue Guy Spotlight.
Their is no better time to be a good glue guy. Guys like Draymond Green or Tristan Thompson have made the “glue guy” not only cool but profitable.
Schreiner had a productive summer playing with Oklahoma Primetime and OnPoint Hoops because he was an elite glue guy.
The 2018 guard from Choctaw showed why he has excelled at the 6A level.
With a compact frame and feel for the game, Schreiner became a prospect that D2 & NAIA college coaches had to take a serious look at.
He had a solid first half of the summer with Primetime but he truly excelled when he joined OnPoint Hoops.
OnPoint was one of the better constructed teams on the AAU circuit in Oklahoma and Schreiner fit right in.
At six feet tall, Schreiner had a large amount of ball handling responsibility on a team loaded with offensive weapons such as Chris Braggs Jr, Dalton Vinson, Blake Owens, and Adokiye Iyaye.
He has a high basketball IQ which led to easy opportunities for his talented teammates.
Schreiner isn’t a volume 3pt shooter but he showed the ability to hit some open shots when needed.
He thrived off the dribble where he found others but also showed off his ability to finish tough shots around the rim.
His defense doesn’t wow you but once you breakdown the tape, you see that he is always in the right position.
Schreiner understands the scouting report. He will be at a disadvantage on the weak side and shade towards the better shooter and make the inferior offensive player make a play.
OnPoint Hoops enjoyed a great second half of the summer due to talent and chemistry.
However, OnPoint wouldn’t have had as much success without this talented glue guy from Choctaw.
