Westwood’s Point Guard was an easy choice for the All-State Team. The 5A D2 State Champs were more than deserving of two spots on the list, and Thomas’ night-in, night-out consistency was crucial to their success. D’Marcus had a great feel for when it was time to get his teammates involved or when it was time to take over, so it’s no surprise to see him get the recognition he deserves.

may not have had the flashy scoring performance as some of the other guys on this list, but he had a huge role for the Redhawks in Sumter. He filled up the stat sheet, putting up 6 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists in a nice win over Lancaster. Thomas does a good job of producing out of set plays, both dead-ball and half-court. He is always looking to get a teammate involved in those, but when a play breaks down, he is just as capable of hitting his own tough shots.

D’Marcus ran the show for Westwood in their fall league win over Lakeside (GA). He made plays on both ends of the floor, highlighting his vision, quickness, and strength, finishing with 6 points and 6 assists in the win. Thomas stood out with his ability to get paint touches and spray the ball out to shooters or dump off the bigs. He contained the ball well with quick feet on the defensive end, as well, marking a true two-way performance for the Top 5 PG.

Thomas really made quite a jump this time around with his play this spring and summer on the hardwood. D’Marcus has a very good feel for the game when it comes to finding the open man and making winning plays. Thomas is a vocal leader on the floor, and it really has shown with his play over the past few months on the Grassroots and High School Circuit.
D’Marcus will penetrate-kick to an open mate or get to the rack on his own at times. He really likes to have the ball in his hands down the stretch and seems to thrive in clutch situations. D’Marcus uses ball-screens well to get by defenders and surely isn’t afraid to take tough shots when needed. He climbed up from #89 to #15 over the past 3-4 months with his play.
