Prospect spotlight: Jordan Vincent (2020)
Kansas Pray N Play guard Jordan Vincent is establishing himself as one of the state’s top 2020 prospects to watch after playing a key role off the bench for Goddard Eisenhower this past season.
A 6’2 guard, Vincent averaged 4.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists for an Eisenhower team that went 23-2 and advanced to the Kansas Class 5A state championships in Topeka where they placed third.
“I’m a player that creates for others but can get a bucket when I need too,” Vincent said. “I’m most effective coming off a ball screen and I’m a good defensive player.
“This year I grew as a player by becoming a lot better defensive player.”
Vincent says he has had a good experience this summer competing with Kansas Pray N Play, a squad that features some of the top talent from across the state.
“I’ve had a good start,” he said. “And I hope to get some interest from a couple colleges by the end of the summer.”
This season, he looks forward to competing against Newton and fellow 2020 guard Ty Berry, who currently holds an offer from Kansas State.
“We’re good friends and we’ve played with each other for multiple years,” Vincent said.
A fan of Gordon Hayward, Vincent says his parents have had the biggest influence on his basketball career to date.
“They’re the ones that introduced the game to me at a young age,” he said.
Vincent has not garnered much interest from college programs, but hopes that will change as he takes on a more prominent role at Eisenhower this season.
