<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This past weekend I was out at my first AAU tournament this season and I was lucky enough to start at the very talented pack Bill Hensley Run N Slam in Fort Wayne Indiana. His potential is through the roof. He is listed as 6'7 and has an absurdly long wingspan. He moves well, very coordinated. He won't wow you with any athleticism but I think he is still growing and that will come with his continued growth. He understands and knows how to play the game and plays hard. He was always putting an effort to get rebounds and was consistently rim running. He showed off some nice quick moves in the post. One thing that almost got me out of my seat was Niekamp's ability to shoot the ball. He has a very big release point, making his shot virtually impossible to block, and has a very smooth stroke. He knocked down a couple threes and was automatic from the line when fouled. I believe this kid is only going to get better and better because he has a lot of growth coming not only physically but to his skill set as well. Buy stock in this kid now!","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["1950596"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"u003ca href=u0022https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2023/05/Blake-Sommers-NWO.jpegu0022u003eu003cimg class=u0022size-medium wp-image-1950597 alignleftu0022 src=u0022https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2023/05/Blake-Sommers-NWO.jpeg?w=300u0022 alt=u0022u0022 width=u0022300u0022 height=u0022200u0022 /u003eu003c/au003eSommers has what you need to be a very good basketball player. He is tall, listed at 6'4, athletic, and skilled. He plays on the wing and for his 6'4 height he moves incredibly well. Is quick and can defend a lot of positions. He has a wide frame too so I believe his already good build will only get bigger and stronger. If that happens and with his length I think he could be anything you need from him depending on your lineup at the next level. He handles the ball well. Takes defense very seriously, this is where his length and athleticism are on the most display. He seemed to like going to the basket more than shooting it but his shot looked really good a couple of times he did shoot. His finishing ability is extremely high. I think Sommers did show some timidness at times but I think once he realizes just how good he truly is, he will be a name college coaches will be talking about.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["1480850"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"u003ca href=u0022https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2023/05/Tai-Ree-Perkins-Nova.jpgu0022u003eu003cimg class=u0022size-medium wp-image-1952105 alignrightu0022 src=u0022https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2023/05/Tai-Ree-Perkins-Nova.jpg?w=300u0022 alt=u0022u0022 width=u0022300u0022 height=u0022186u0022 /u003eu003c/au003eI saw Perkins play for the first time this past high school season and loved his game and now he is in AAU he is continuing to do the same. He is just a very skilled basketball player that knows how to get buckets. He understands attacking lanes and when he should and shouldn't attack them. He also has great moves that shift the defenses and gives him lanes to attack as well. He is so explosive with his dribble moves that the defender is usually on skates and Perkins just toys with them until he makes a decision and creates space for himself. Such a shifty and quick player. His understanding of his change of speed is something that makes the task of keeping him in front very challenging. His passing is something that he is very willing to do but I would like to see him improve upon. He sometimes can get careless and not make the right basketball play from time to time.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["1943724"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"u003ca href=u0022https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2023/05/Karter-Koester.jpegu0022u003eu003cimg class=u0022size-medium wp-image-1950594 alignleftu0022 src=u0022https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2023/05/Karter-Koester.jpeg?w=300u0022 alt=u0022u0022 width=u0022300u0022 height=u0022200u0022 /u003eu003c/au003eKoester was the one kid I saw this weekend that I thought looked levies better than the last time I watched him play. He seemed much more confident and aggressive. He commanded the ball offensively and handled it very much and made the defense pay for pressuring him. He got to the rim very consistently and had some really impressive finishes. He looks to have gotten bigger, and stronger, and he seemed to have gained his confidence as a scorer. He is also a sniper. Don't give him an inch because he will make you pay and has unlimited range. He showed much willingness to be the primary scoring option and did a great job at picking up the load when his teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1491439' first='Quinn' last='Woidke'] was being face guarded.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["1462534"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"u003ca href=u0022https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2023/05/Jacob-Wassler-Midwest.jpegu0022u003eu003cimg class=u0022size-medium wp-image-1950593 alignrightu0022 src=u0022https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2023/05/Jacob-Wassler-Midwest.jpeg?w=300u0022 alt=u0022u0022 width=u0022300u0022 height=u0022205u0022 /u003eu003c/au003eWassler has the tools and size of a college basketball player. Listed at 6'8 he is a big body that moves well. I watched him play in a very intense physical game against the Illinois Wolves team and he did not back down from the challenge at all. He embraced the contact and gave it right back to them. He showed good moves in the post, his go-to was his over-the-left shoulder right-handed hook shot. He made a three off a pick-n-pop. His athleticism won't wow you but he is someone that colleges should definitely check him out. Seems like he could easily develop into a very nice 4-year college big for a small school.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":5,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-645c29aedc46a"} /--> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":"","_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-645c374317d80"} /-->
