Jay Anderson | Prep Hoops Scout
Cockerham makes his debut at No. 61 off the Watch List in the latest update for the 2027 class out of Cardinal Gibbons High in the Raleigh area. He’s another versatile prospect at 6-foot-3 who’s shown he can play above the rim and fill it up from deep as he has this summer on Team Trezz on the grassroots scene this spring/summer so far. He’s got a big year coming up with an opportunity to play a big role on the varsity squad as he continues his development in the state. He’s a name to keep an eye on over the next few months as he’s already a highly-rated football recruit.

Cockerham should be a name that starts to pop on the scene this year after some good performances in AAU as a hybrid forward that impacts the game on both ends. He’s solid on the ball and can attack the paint as an off ball cutter or on his own. Defensively, he’s super versatile, able to guard the perimeter and the post. His lateral athleticism allows him to stay in front of the smaller guards, while his toughness and length helps him battle on the boards and guard bigger forwards all over the court. He should see time with the varsity group at Apex HS and continue to make a name for himself.
