April 28th-30th I attended the Elite Youth Basketball League at Bell Bank Park in Mesa/AZ. The EYBL has some of the top teams in the country. I checked out as many AZ based players as I could.

Here were the young AZ Standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='1500800' first='Elijah' last='Williams'] Scottsdale Christian Academy (AZ Unity 16) (Pictured)

A thicker framed wing defender. He has a nice set shot catch three and has a high motor to rebound and spring up a second time. He has a high release on his three and can straight line drive to the basket. He is a physical defender, a plus athlete and a great rebounder in heavy traffic.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150824' first='Kaden' last='House'] Desert Mountain (Team Why Not 16)

One of the highest motored players in the West. He is an incredible on-ball defender and it is hard to dribble versus him. He can shoot it from mid-range off the dribble and drives and kicks it well. He makes smart reads, he plays with an unmatched motor and is an elite rebounder for a guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150822' first='Cameron' last='Holmes'] Millennium (AZ Unity 16)

An athletic wing forward is a lefty facilitator who defends multiple positions. His best skill is easily his defense and he has deep range on his three. He hit a clutch deep ball at the buzzer to win a big game to remain undefeated at the time. He rebounds well, defends and is a very good athlete.

[player_tooltip player_id='1323290' first='Mason' last='Magee'] Basha (Vegas Elite 15)

A scoring point guard is very hard to stay in front of. He is super shifty and the ball is on a string. He has a mid-range pull-up with high elevation. He has a real burst and can dunk it on the break. He is very quick on the ball defensively to rip some pockets. His pull-up off the dribble from mid-range is nearly impossible to defend, as he will suddenly rise up. In 66 mins last weekend, he had 0 turnovers as the primary ball handler.

[player_tooltip player_id='1612468' first='Cameron' last='Williams'] Centennial (Vegas Elite 15)

A long power forward with great size already and high upside. He can hit the catch three and move fluidly around the court. He alters or blocks everything near him with his 7'0+ wingspan. He gets off the floor easily and runs well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1490241' first='Elijah' last='Summers-Livingston'] Basha (Vegas Elite 15)

A high motored power forward is a finisher who scores on tip-ins, put backs and hook shots. He rebounds and blocks shots at a high level. He is a true rim runner and plays with a lot of energy on both sides of the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1464982' first='Miles' last='Sadler'] Dream City Christian International (AZ Unity 15)

A pure point guard with some serious jets. He bursts up the court and the ball with his yo-yo handle. He has a different gear than most kids on the court and he does have the rare ability to dribble thru traffic easily and will drop dimes in traffic on the norm. He has a tough euro game and nice mid-range pull-up plus can hit the catch three.

[player_tooltip player_id='1834650' first='Jelani' last='McCoy'] Dream City Christian International (AZ Unity 15)

A long and athletic scoring guard is very good defensively, He is a true two-way guard who is fast and quick. The lefty can burst to the rim plus hit the catch three. He got a little hot in this game from deep and still bothered opposing ball handlers and will drive to the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='1580233' first='Paul' last='Osaruyi'] Dream City Christian International (AZ Unity 15)

A long forward is one of the many highly regarded players in the AZ EYBL program. He is a three level scorer and is a long rebounder in the painted area. He has the floater game, will score on put backs, hit the three and pull-up or fall-away from mid-range.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555179' first='Darius' last='Wabbington'] Sunnyslope (AZ Unity 15)

One of the bigger players in the 2027 class locally is highly skilled and is headed to Sunnyslope. He has a really nice touch out to the three point line and has soft hands and strength to board in the paint. He knows how to gain position and has some footwork to utilize.
