About Paul
Expert Analysis
Michael Roth | Prep Hoops Scout
The growth Osaruyi has made this year has been significant and he stood out Vs Paul VI with 21 points on 8/14 shooting by being aggressive around the rim. I liked that Osaruyi is using his frame and playing through contact with his impressive wingspan and physical tools around the rim. In the fourth quarter, Osaruyi had a couple monster dunks to put the game away and help CIA Bella Vista advance.

Playing on the NIKE Scholastic champions, Osaruyi had a monster season for CIA Bella Vista, taking a huge leap from sophomore to junior season. A fluid wing forward athlete, Osaruyi covers a lot of ground in transition and plays above the rim with ease. When Osaruyi is making shots he is extremely tough to stop and he measured in at 6’9 with a 7’2 wingspan at 219 pounds at Basketball without borders according to ESPN. Expect blue blood programs to target Osaruyi this summer.

Paul Osaruyi made his presence felt throughout the game yesterday. He showed patience on the defensive end, waiting for the right moment to contest shots with his length and timing. That discipline led to a couple of blocks while also altering several other attempts. Beyond his stout defense, he scored inside by finishing over defenders and snagging rebounds. Overall, he checks about every box and he performed very well against the #1 2027 Marcus Spears Jr.

There’s a reason why Osaruyi is considered the top prospect in his class for the state of AZ and he showed the DMV faithful why in emphatic fashion around the rim. He’s a commanding paint presence with exceptional length, power, and athleticism around the bucket that surfaced in rim-rocking dunks, violent blocked shots, and rebounds being ripped down at their peak. He walked away with MVP honors in the win over Mt. Zion Prep Academy yesterday after finishing with 15 points and nine rebounds.

The manchild was imposing as usual as his ability to move at his size is second to none. He rebounded, blocked shots and got out and filled the lane often finishing his plays above the rim. Paul also showed his growing potential as a perimeter shooter. His upside is enormous.
