Along with the constant coverage as it happened Friday through Sunday our team has continued the coverage into the beginning of this week. Now, after our boots on the ground scouts had a chance to meet and put our heads together, it is time to announce the Chi-Town Tip-Off All-Tournament Teams! Here are the prospects that performed the best at the 16u level.
First Team
One of the more talented pure scorers at the event in Chicago, Daoust was putting on a show from the perimeter while leading Wisconsin Crusaders Premier to a 3-1 weekend. The 6’2″ guard started things off with back-to-back 19 and 17 point games respectively with a pair of impressive wins on Saturday. Daoust is an excellent shooter both from the catch and off of the dribble. Look for him to continue putting up big numbers throughout the spring and summer months.
Highlights
Team Work took a step up in competition on Sunday morning and took down Team Rose 3SSB at 8:00 a.m. on the back of 20+ points from this physical wing. Hatchett Jr. scored 19 points in a narrow two-point loss to a very good OPS Black squad for their only loss on the 4-1 weekend. He is incredibly strong, has a high level of skill, and can finish above the rim. Really impressed with his overall scoring ability at the Chi-Town Tip-Off.
Highlights
Smith has some sneaky shiftiness off of the dribble, a really quick first step against closeouts, and can flat out stroke it from beyond the arc. The 6’3″ guard has good size on the perimeter and moves very well without the ball. He is a plug-and-play sort of guy on the perimeter due to his high basketball IQ, shooting ability, and willingness to make the extra pass. Routinely was a top performer for Full Package Gold as they battled in the top pool of the Chi-Town Tip-Off.
Highlights
This prospect was one of the most impressive Class of 2025 big men from the weekend. Strelnikov showed off his strength, footwork, and soft scoring touch game after game as All in Athletics Figueroa Gold rolled to a 4-0 weekend against the best competition the event had to offer. He started things off with a double-double and never looked back dominating the post area on both ends of the floor. Plays with excellent pace and skill around the basket.
Highlights
In terms of raw physical tools and athleticism it is hard to find many prospects in the gym better than Truesdale. The 6’3″ guard led OPS Black to an impressive 66-64 victory over Team Work bright and early on Saturday morning by scoring a game-high 21 points. Then, he never looked back finishing a very strong weekend with a perfect 4-0 record. He will be one to watch this spring and summer as he displays his elite two-way capabilities out on the perimeter.
Second Team
Ben Gablenz
Ben Gablenz
Gablenz knocked in four three-pointers on his way to 20 points in a win over M14 Hoops on Friday night and continued his strong catch-and-shoot weekend into Saturday as Fundamental U 2025 UA Rise would finish 2-1. Along with his outside shooting ability, the 6’2″ guard can knife his way into the paint off of the dribble and finished consistently with both hands.

Schneider was the leading scorer throughout the weekend for Greater Purpose 2025 National on their way to a perfect 4-0 record. He is a pure shooter from beyond the arc, a creative finisher off of the dribble, and a good passer as well. True floor general that contributes to winning on both ends of the floor.
This 6’7″ wing has a really impressive skill set for his size and age. Sehlhorst combines impressive length with guard-like ball handling skills, a smooth jump shot, and overall playmaking ability. Meanwhile, he also scores around the rim effortless, rebounds at a high level, and can block shots on the defensive end. Really intriguing prospect.
Highlights
A skilled guard that can play both on or off of the ball, Smith was a major part of All in Athletics 2025 Figueroa Gold’s 4-0 weekend. While Strelnikov (named to the First Team) held things down around the basket, Smith was the leader on the perimeter. His elite shooting ability makes him all the more dangerous off of the dribble and opens up plenty of opportunities for him to score attacking the basket or make plays for his teammates.
Highlights
M14 Hoops 2025 Adidas Gold had a tough weekend playing in a loaded top pool at the Chi-Town Tip-Off, but the high level of competition certainly didn’t slow down this 6’4″ wing. The silky smooth left-hander had it working from beyond the arc and on the pull-up including a game with eight three-pointers against the Wisconsin Crusaders. He is a very talented scorer.
