Cooley had a strong showing for the hosts at the 2024 Poinsettia Classic. He was efficient in scoring and rebounding in the paint while also using his strong frame to earn trips to the free-throw line. Roman is a good finisher with both hands and he is a solid mid-range jump shot. On the defensive end, Cooley is versatile in his ability to guard multiple positions because he moves his feet well and has long arms to contest shots. Roman finished with 12 Points and 5 Rebounds in Greenville’s Round 2 loss to Goose Creek.

of Greenville High School, who reclassified from 4A to 5A and now will be in 5A Region 1. The Red Raiders have dominated their regions for the past several years and will be one of the favorites this year not just in their region but for the State Championship. Roman is a big part of that. He is one of their most versatile pieces and has a knack for changing the game in multiple ways. Cooley is a key defender, hustle player, and interior scorer. Roman will often be used on the opposing team’s best Wing or off-ball Guard but also averaged 15.0 Points Per Game on 60% Field Goal Shooting with 6.8 Rebounds Per Game. Cooley has offers from Bob Jones, Dean, and Erskine.

Roman is another Top-25 Prospect in the 2025 Class who submitted his film on Twitter. I didn’t get to see him at all with his new AAU Team this Summer, Team KST, so it was nice to see some highlights of him from their tournaments. Cooley is a very solid player capable of adding offensive and defensive versatility from a wing or forward position. He is a very confident driver and an efficient jump shooter. He has a good handle and can either work quickly with one or two dribbles or create off the bounce by breaking down a defender on his own. Roman also displayed athleticism and strength in finishing at the rim with either hand.

is the first name up on my Upper State 2025s list. He had a massive two-way performance for the Red Raiders in their impressive win over 4A Contender Wilson. Cooley took turns guarding some of the most talented players in the state and held his own on the perimeter and close to the rim. One of his “flash plays” that showed his abilities came in the first half, where he got beat with a crossover off the dribble, recovered, and leaped for a remarkable block on the layup attempt. Roman also had some good moments on the offensive end, putting up 15 Points and 5 Assists. He was at his best scoring the ball in the paint, but did show his range with a made three.

Cooley a left-handed forward plays his best basketball inside the paint area. Roman collects putbacks on the boards but can step-out to the short corners for some looks at times. Cooley has good length to be disruptive in the passing lanes along with good versatility around the floor. Roman has had a solid spring on the Grassroots Circuit with KST Academy.
