U of U Team Camp Small College Prospects
The University of Utah hosts the largest high school basketball team camp in the state of Utah. I was able to watch on day 2 of the camp and there were several players that I would considered very good players that can play at the non-d1 level.
Sinai Enoch 5’11 Guard (West Jordan) is a crafty left handed point guard that has nice range from the outside. During the game I watched he was able to break down defenders and get to the rim and also find his teammates. He has NBA type range which makes him a tough cover. Enoch needs to get in the weight room and work on his floater game so he can finish over taller defenders. He would be a good fit at a smaller junior college or an NAIA school.
Josh Sanders 6’2 Guard (Davis) is a hard nosed combo guard that is a very solid two way player. Sanders is a strong kid who can finish well at the rim at the high school level. He is a decent shooter who is a bit streaky but his jumper continues to improve. My favorite part about his game is his commitment to defense and he will do anything it takes to win. I think Sanders could play at the D2 level if he continues to improve his outside shooting.
Jadon Chism 5’10 Guard (Bountiful) is a knock down shooter who can get extremely hot once he gets going. He also has a nice mid-range game that works well when defenders jump at his shot. Chism is a tough defender for his size and can usually guard bigger players. He has a very high basketball IQ which any college coach would love to have. He could play at a low-level junior college or at the D3/NAIA levels.
Darrian Nebeker 6’4 Forward/Wing (West Jordan) is a player that is a bit of a tweener as he likes to play in the post. He will need to improved his guard skills to play at the college level. Nebeker is very good on direct drives to the hoop and can finish very well through contact. He can guard on the perimeter and in the post which makes him a very versatile play on that end. I think it would serve Nebeker well to go to a junior college and develop into a guard.
Tyler Eaton 6’4 wing (Wasatch) is a very tough player who is constantly attacking the rim and does a nice job finishing. He has a decent three point shot but is a bit inconsistent. I liked some of Eaton’s intangibles as he was able to get touches on the defensive end and was a pest to the opposing team. I see him as a lower level junior college player or would be a great pick up and the NAIA level where he can develop his game.
