Continue ReadingGadberry is a gamer. He is a hard working point guard with a smooth handle and the ability to finish in a plethora of ways around the basket. He possesses a quick first step that helps him beat flat footed defenders while being able to change his direction in the blink of an eye as he attacks the hoop. He has solid shot form from all three levels of the floor with the ability to get hot from deep rather quickly. Throughout his season at Lisbon high school Gadberry showed night in and night out that he was the best player for his team on the floor, with the ability to go off at any moment offensively. Keep an eye on Mike as he should be putting up some big numbers for his upcoming senior season this fall.
Haiden Hardy
Haiden Hardy
Clear Creek Amana lost a lot of production at the varsity level due to the graduating of their senior class coming into this season. They needed a few players to come in and step up in big ways, one of those players was Haiden Hardy. Hardy only got to play half of the season because of the transfer rule but when he played he looked good. Hardy is a shifty point guard who is extremely crafty near the hoop, there isn’t any other way to put it. He does a great job of beating his defender off the dribble with a swivel of his hips or a quick hesitation into a cross over. Once he gets downhill it is awfully hard to slow him down. Coming into this season the big question with him was his consistency shooting the ball from deep, but he did a good job this season knocking down open shots when given the opportunity. Something that is going to help his recruiting in the long run. He will be on the road with Team Iowa AAU 17u team this spring/summer, showing off his game on a bigger stage with more eyes watching.
Kaleb Wilgenbusch
Kaleb Wilgenbusch
Kaleb Wilgenbusch only got in about 5 games this season for the Xavier Saints on their way to the 3A state championship and for good reason, their team was pretty stacked with upperclassman at the guard position. Wilgenbusch is a 5’11/6 ft guard who can score on all three levels while being a pretty solid player on the defensive end as well. His shot form is balanced wether it be on the catch or off the dribble, depending on the situation. He can put the ball on the floor with both hands at a consistent rate and beat his defender, getting a look closer toward the rim when need be. Next season he will get a bigger role on this team and make the most of it. He has a good head on his shoulders while being the other sophomore to move up this season in their program, two key things that speak to the type of player he is.
Julian Manson Julian Manson 6’3″ | SF Iowa City West | 2026 State IA is an interesting prospect. He is lengthy, athletic, equipped with skill and he is only 15. During his freshman season Manson saw the floor a good amount for the Iowa City-West Trojans. He was usually given the hardest assignment on defense a majority of the time which makes sense. When watching his game you can see that he plays with a patience. He never rushes things on offense while being really sound of defense in almost all facet of the game. He is the type of player you put on the other teams offensive stud to shut him down throughout a ball-game. Going forward I’m interested in how his game expands during the off-season. He is a multi-sport athlete who shows a lot of promise across the board at the moment so really anything can happen.
