#1 FORT COBB-BROXTON 45, #8 GOODWELL 43

While nearly every Class A game on Wednesday was decided by double digits, the very first game on Thursday in Class B ended up going down to the wire. Top-ranked Fort Cobb-Broxton survived a scare from #8 Goodwell, who was making their first state tournament appearance in over 50 years. The Mustangs would survive and advance with a 45-43 victory over the Eagles after freshman Eli Willits would go coast to coast and score the go-ahead bucket with less than ten seconds left in the game.

Junior star [player_tooltip player_id='1625151' first='Kray' last='Rogers'] would lead the Mustangs with 18 points in the win and he was consistent throughout the morning. The Mustangs were in control after the first two quarters, leading 30-23 at halftime and they could not miss in the first half. They were shooting 75 percent from the field at halftime. Things flipped in the second half as the Eagles would outscore Fort Cobb-Broxton 16-11 in the third quarter and then the game hit a screeching halt in the final quarter. Eight combined points were scored in the final eight minutes.

Fort Cobb-Broxton will move on to Friday's semifinal round where they will play defending champion Glencoe at 9AM.

#10 GLENCOE 52, #2 ROFF 43

50 continues to be the magic number for the defending champions. #10 Glencoe moved on with a 52-43 win over Roff in a rematch of last year's state championship game. In a relatively low-scoring game in Glencoe standards, the Panthers were able to reach the 50-point mark for the 26th time this season and they are now 25-1 when they score at least 50 points while going 1-4 when they fall short of that mark. The Panthers would outscore Roff 32-24 in the second half to move on to Friday's semifinal round.

The defending state champions would use a run halfway thru the third quarter to go up for good. Roff star senior [player_tooltip player_id='1717009' first='Tallen' last='Bagwell'] would get called for a technical foul and that would also be his fourth foul, forcing him to sit for the remainder of the third quarter. The Panthers saw the opportunity and took advantage of that, going on a run that would give them a 31-24 lead going into the final frame. Senior guard Jaken Weedn would once again lead the Panthers with 23 points and would finish 5-11 from beyond the arc. One of the other difference makers in Thursday's game was the three-point shooting. Glencoe would go 8-20 from beyond the arc while Roff struggled, shooting 4-21.

#4 CALUMET 62, #12 SENTINEL 54

#4 Calumet used a hot start in the first half to roll to a quarterfinal win over Sentinel on Thursday afternoon. They would outscore the Bulldogs 20-10 in the second quarter to lead 40-28 at halftime. They needed that hot start from the floor to give them enough cushion in the second half. Sentinel closed the gap and would get as close as four points late in the third quarter but the Chieftains would make big shots late in the third and early in the fourth quarter to make sure they would move on.

Dalton Belcher finished with a game-high 15 points for Calumet and he was joined by teammate Kyler Thiessen in double figures with 14. Thiessen hit some clutch shots in the fourth quarter to help the Chieftains pull away. Calumet would shoot 53% from the field and 8-16 from three point range in the first half. They would cool off significantly in the second half but they did enough to capture their 25th consecutive victory and move on to the semifinals on Friday.

With the win, Calumet now moves on to the semifinals to face Kinta on Friday morning at 10:30AM.

#6 KINTA 54, #5 BUFFALO VALLEY 50

Kinta kept their season alive and punched their ticket to the semifinals with a 54-50 win over Buffalo Valley on Thursday afternoon. The Eagles have been in "win or go home" mode since losing to defending champion Glencoe in the regional round and they felt right at home on Thursday. They knocked off Buffalo Valley behind a strong third quarter in which they did a good job limiting Buffalo Valley star Jace Hunter, meanwhile outscoring the Buffaloes 16-9 in the third quarter.

Despite being limited in the third quarter, Hunter would still finish with a game-high 25 points for the Buffaloes. Kinta was led by Terry Vealy, who finished with 19 points and Trea Seabolt chipped in with 15 in the win. Both had strong second half performances as the Eagles move on to the semifinal round where they'll face a Calumet team that has won 25 games in a row.
