OK Run PWP 17U dominates in pool play
Oklahoma Run PWP 17U Black defeated 3-D Athletes Elite in convincing fashion 70-49. Dynamic offense and disruptive defense were the keys to the PWP victory.
The score may not show it but 3-D Athletes Elite came to play. Carson Meier came out on fire hitting two threes in a row for 3-D. The atmosphere was thick as the crowd set on what looked to be a great battle.
Jayscon Bereal of PWP showed why he is one of the top prospects in the region with great open court offense and matching up with Meier after he got hot.
Bereal was sloppy at times with the ball but for the most part he got where he needed to go to score. His ability to defend at a high level is was one of the reasons PWP came out with the overwhelming victory.
3-D boasts a talented roster of 2017 forward Trey Palmer and 2018 Tyler Street, plus 2018 Carson Meier. Unfortunately, that was not enough for the caliber of talent PWP puts on the floor.
2018 four-star guard Keyshawn Embery of PWP didn’t play his best game. He just couldn’t get hot from deep but the threat of his ability to knock down shots was enough.
2018 post Camden Patterson held down the paint from beginning to end with physicality and size
2018 guard Tauriawn Knight was efficient from three and did what he does best and that’s getting down hill and scoring at the basket.
PWP is loaded from top to bottom with high level athletes. Their biggest weakness is shooting consistently. Against 3-D Athletes Elite, PWP got hot and knock down open shots which will advance them to the championship bracket on Sunday.
