Clark had a herculean performance for the Burrs. The Coppin St-commit put up 21 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 6 steals, and 2 blocks. His usage of screens has come a long way. In pick-and-roll, he used them to snake-dribble into the paint to lay the ball in and/or draw fouls (5-8 FT). And when his man went under the screen, Budd pulled up for three, making a pair of them in the second quarter. His 4th quarter was big for them two. He scored 6 points and grabbed 2 steals, plus a chase-down block to give his team the lead before going to overtime.

Coach Boc gave Stanford a crucial defensive assignment - create havoc and still help on Guillouette - while relying on him on offense. And for the most part, he did just that: two steals, 3 blocks, and several deflections to go along with 20 points and 8 boards (6 on defense). The future Temple Owl used his size and strength to get to his spots inside. In the process, he was able to make multiple trips to the charity stripe where he made 7-of-10.

[player_tooltip player_id='1460800' first='Jordan' last='Ellerbee'] | 6'1 G 2025

A sixth man for the Hawks, Ellerbee was the unofficial-but-unquestioned player of the game with 20 points on 4 threes. He entered the game and immediately enhanced the vertical dimension of their offense. His jumpers - including 2 middies - came from him relocating and/or running off screens. After a mental error late in the fourth, the sophomore guard bounced back by making the game-tying layup with single digits left on the clock. Then in OT, he hit two big shots to swing the momentum in SJP's favor. Before the season, I underestimated SJP because I underrated Ellerbee. He and they made a believer out of me.

Matthew Gorman | 6'2 G 2024

Gorman made smart decisions with the ball all game. They didn't ask him to do much, but when they needed him he was on-point. The junior wing knocked down a pair of threes and got fouled on a third (2-3 FT). Almost as important, he made great connecting passes, including the assist across the baseline for Ellerbee's three in OT. Gorman totalled 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='933048' first='Tristen' last='Guillouette'] | 6'9 C 2024

His teammates had difficulties getting him paint touches, but he maximized the ones he did get. Guillouette scored 12 points, 4 of which came on putbacks. And even when the Jersey-native didn't get the ball down low, the defense had to pre-rotate his way to deny him. His presence on defense gave SJP the upper hand. He hauled in double-digit defensive rebounds, blocked 6 shots, and clogged the lane, deterring even more attempts.

[player_tooltip player_id='1197607' first='Jaron' last='McKie'] | 6'2 G 2025

Even when McKie doesn't have the ball, he is still a threat. So West Catholic did their best to account for him every second he was on the court. And two of the times they didn't, the marksman made them pay with trey-balls. Other times, he capitalized on frantic closeouts by kicking it to other shooters or getting the ball inside. McKie finished the game with 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists.
