Tuesday Night Standouts (Dec. 6, 2022)

In this post, we're taking a look at some of the top individual performers from Tuesday night's games. We spotlight some of those performances here. If we missed a top performer, let us know! They were led by junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1482826' first='Braeden' last='Lloyd'], who's very quickly turning into one of the top scorers in 5A basketball. Lloyd would finish with 37 points, in one of the top scoring performances from Tuesday night's games across the state. What's interesting to see is whether or not Lloyd can help carry Mount Saint Mary to the state tournament as they've been bumped up to 5A. Lloyd and Mount Saint Mary are back on the court on Thursday against Plainview in the first round of the Madill tournament. The Warriors are a team to look out for in an absolutely loaded Class 4A. The Warriors are talented, they are experienced and on Tuesday night, they were led by their star [player_tooltip player_id='1174641' first='Breylon' last='Owens']. The senior standout would finish with 20 points and eight rebounds. And after checking out the stat line, we had to be impressed with Owens' efficiency from the floor. He didn't attempt many shots, but the ones he did shoot normally went in. He was aggressive and drew fouls and showed what he was able to do throughout the night. First, McAlester was able to take down Broken Bow 68-63 in overtime to improve to 1-1 on the season. But we almost didn't see overtime. Senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='1421754' first='Cole' last='Allen'] would knock down a three-pointer at the buzzer to end regulation and send the game into the extra period. From there, the Buffaloes would roll and get out with a win. Allen, in addition to hitting the big shot at the end of regulation, finished with a team-high 26 points and also grabbed 14 rebounds. Allen moving to McAlester definitely gives the Buffaloes a boost and they'll be a team to watch this week in the Tahlequah tournament.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["1068571"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"Speaking of clutch and overtime and speaking of the Tahlequah tournament, Jenks senior [player_tooltip player_id='1068571' first='Dylan' last='Golightly'] proved to be clutch in overtime as he helped lead the Trojans to a big win over Owasso Tuesday night. Golightly would finish with 19 points, including what would be the go-ahead shot with less than a minute to play in the extra period. Golightly is definitely a contender for being an absolute breakout star this season. With the Trojans losing a few key pieces to graduation, it's expected that Golightly will move into the role of the leading scorer for the Trojans. Canute would bounce back from a loss last week to Merritt by beating up on Frederick, winning 85-64. Beck would lead all scorers with 39 points. He also dished out six assists and grabbed five rebounds. Beck has been a player on our radar for a while now and has performed incredibly well at various Prep Hoops events during the offseason. It's no surprise that he's turning out to be one of the top scorers in the state so far this season. Carl Albert got a big win over a Northwest Classen team that was riding high after upsetting Del City late last week. The Titans were led by junior big man [player_tooltip player_id='1367218' first='Jayden' last='Mott'], who is turning into an absolute monster in the paint for the Titans. He helped lead them to the win with 18 points and does appear to be taking the next step as not only a player but as a prospect as well. However, it was Friedrichsen's younger brother Luke who would shine bright as the Spartans would win a shootout on the road with the Bruins. Friedrichsen, a junior, would finish with 21 points and shot 4-5 from beyond the arc. He also added five assists and four steals as the Spartans got a big road win. Friedrichsen has been known as a shooter and that was on full display on Tuesday night. Leading the way was [player_tooltip player_id='1482843' first='Malachi' last='Schilreff'], who finished with 32 points and was wildly efficient from the floor. Between his field goal and free throw percentage, Schilreff would shoot 76 percent from the field. Schilreff is an interesting prospect to watch moving forward because there's no doubt that he's an outstanding scorer and overall athlete. Byng is also an interesting team to watch as they are in a jam-packed Class 4A. Once again, he has to be featured after finishing with 23 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots on Tuesday night. Moore's 23-point performance was the third straight game this season that Moore has gone for at least 20 points. Destiny Christian is outside of the OSSAA so they don't get as much shine as some of the other schools but Moore is definitely a good reason to go check them out if you can.
