The hero of the night for the Pirates. Schilreff started the game with physical drives and post ups. Before turning into an one man wrecking crew down the stretch. It started when his heady defensive instincts allowed him to successful double the ball, produce a steal and race out for a two handed dunk. From that point forward he was nearly unstoppable, draining big off the dribble threes and getting to the rim with tough scores. Including a go ahead old fashion 3 point play in the closing moments. The senior would score 23 points, over half of them coming in the closing moments of the game. It was the type of performance that is often seen by seniors in “win or go home” playoff games next month.

A physical bully guard, Schilreff’s 16 points helped Byng to a win and a third place finish at the Boomarang classic at Dale. He understands how to identify a mismatch. With the ability to post up smaller defenders on the block and earn easy points for his team. While also being able to finish with either hand on drives. His hard nose mentality also translates to the defensive end.

, who finished with 32 points and was wildly efficient from the floor. Between his field goal and free throw percentage, Schilreff would shoot 76 percent from the field. Schilreff is an interesting prospect to watch moving forward because there’s no doubt that he’s an outstanding scorer and overall athlete. Byng is also an interesting team to watch as they are in a jam-packed Class 4A. They’ll get a good test and we’ll know more about them as a team later on this week when they go to the Bethel tourney.

After averaging 20 a game as a sophomore, Schilreff proceeded to have a strong spring and summer with Oklahoma Impact 4:13. He even finished out July playing for their 17U team. While he can fill it up from deep, he’s a balanced small town guard that impacts the game in all facets. One of his better traits is the control and the strength he plays with when attacking. He plays at his own pace and rarely looks bother by pressure defense when finishing at the rim. Class 4A is deep at the top, but with a dynamic scorer like Schilreff, Byng could be a darkhorse that could make some noise.
