I’m lucky that I have thousands of players, coaches, trainers, and fans to be thankful for every year. I’m going to give you a snap shot of some players that I appreciate and why.
It was awesome being there to see Lewless announce his commitment to the University of San Diego. He’s a shining example of what being a superstar between the ears can lead to.

This one seems obvious. If you get your own title (The Hutch Ward Hutch Ward 6’8″ | PF Kalamazoo Central | 2023 State MI Explosion), than I’m pretty happy to get to see you play. Ward was terrific all spring and summer, shooting at a high clip and finishing with force at the rim.

Boggerty was one of the hottest stories by the time fall arrived. He’s one of the most improved players in the state and has written his ticket as a next level player.

I’m sure you all know that I’ve been incredibly high on this young man’s game since he hit the Prep Hoops Michigan Top 250 as a freshman. He can absolutely take over a game and has as much upside as any player in the state. I more than stand by any high ranking that anyone gives this talented athlete.
How can you not be thankful for Taylor? He’s a point guard through and through. Taylor doesn’t just set the table for his team, but he makes everyone around him better. He’s also as great of a young man as he is a basketball player.
I’m thankful to Dante for keeping me humble. He should have been ranked long ago, but I missed the boat. He never complained, but just put himself in position to be seen. He’s reaping the rewards now as one of the top seniors in the state.

He’s a shining example of why a lot of kids should be dual sport athletes. Struck is a tremendous basketball and football talent. He’s a great young man with a tremendous work ethic. I guarantee that he will maximize his talents in whatever he takes on.

I was so thankful a year ago to see Brooks drive from Grand Rapids to Jackson to play in 1 of my open runs. He put on a show and has continued to do so. In my opinion, Brooks has the talent to play and succeed at any school in the country at the next level.
I’m thankful for Brock every time that I see that passion he plays the game with. He cares about his performance and success every time hits the floor.
I’m thankful to have Washburn around as a role model for other players. If you’re a player that’s questioning your abilities or wondering if you can be great at the game, then follow Washburn. He put in the work, believed in himself, and is now considered one of the best post prospects in Michigan.

I’ll let out a little secret her. Vanlaningham is a player that I’ve low key been rooting on for years now. The kid deserves it. He’s easily one of the most dedicated and hardest working players that I’ve seen come through. Vanlaningham is seeing that work pay off and it should continue to pay off in offers this high school season.
I’ve been lucky to get to know Nadeau a lot more this year as a player and as a person. I’m very lucky on both accounts. He’s developed into one of the top shooters and athletic scorers that you’ll see this year. He’s a terrific young man with a great future on and off the floor.

So it’s very obvious that I’m thankful for the opportunity to watch him shoot the rock. But that’s not it by any stretch. I love seeing and hearing about the work that McLavish is putting in the improve all aspects of his game. I look forward to seeing him on the PH Circuit again and at the Top 250 next year.
