– Committed to Northern Michigan to play football.
I’m counting this one because I can. While it’s a football commitment, Struck has been a basketball star in the state for years. He decided to go the gridiron route and the decision takes a very high quality basketball recruit off the board.

Struck is a player that I’ve always been very high on. He could probably play all 5 positions in high school. He has the size and strength of a post, but the smoothness and perimeter skills of a dominant guard. Needless to say, Struck can utilize matchups and attack outside-in or inside-out.

I’ll call him a post player for the sake of this article, but Struck really defines the new age of positionless basketball. I’ve seen him, at some point, play every single position on the floor. Struck is strong and physical enough to bang with elite bigs on the block. But he can also step outside and use his athleticism, basketball IQ and court vision. Struck is going to give opponents fits trying to match up with him this coming high school season.

Maybe it’s a thing that both of the first 2 players mentioned are very high level multi sport stars. I think Struck’s feet are underestimated. He’s smooth enough and quick enough that his feet and footwork allow him to effectively play 3-4 different positions. Watch close and you’ll notice that his cuts are extremely sharp as well.

Struck has to be in the discussion with some of the best players as well as upside in the state. He’s a terrific all around athlete that’s highly ranked in both basketball and football. Struck is a matchup nightmare. He’s at least pushing 6’8″ and it hasn’t even been a year since I saw him at a showcase playing as a primary ball handler. Put a big on him, he steps out. Put a wing or guard on him, he goes to work down low. Good luck either way.
