O’Mara is a very talented post player that’s had an excellent high school basketball career with Grand Blanc. He’s had some big performances against some very big competition, always seeming to step up in the big moments for the Bobcats. I think he’s ready for a big senior season. There are more shots available and as long as someone gets him the ball, he can fill that void. O’Mara can stretch the floor as well as finish with 2 hands over the rim.
I’ll call him a post player for the sake of this article, but Struck really defines the new age of positionless basketball. I’ve seen him, at some point, play every single position on the floor. Struck is strong and physical enough to bang with elite bigs on the block. But he can also step outside and use his athleticism, basketball IQ and court vision. Struck is going to give opponents fits trying to match up with him this coming high school season.
Highlights
If you watched Haverkamp in any Prep Hoops Circuit events this past spring and summer, then you know exactly why he’s here in this article. He took his game to another level in the last 6 months. Haverkamp seems primed to have a huge season, one that could make waves across the state. He’s a long rim protecting defender that’s slippery when establishing position on the block or boxing out for a rebound. Haverkamp showed some bounciness under the bucket and touch around the rim.
This one seems kind of obvious. Ouwinga is the classic case of a player putting in the work and continuously improving his game. The talented post play committed to the University of Toledo. He’s always been an elite rim protector with solid lateral footwork and a nose for the ball. Ouwinga has really made huge strides over the years offensively. His mid range game could be a headache for opposing coaches this season and a major why he has a huge senior season.
Hutter stated to see his recruitment take off this summer and fall. His play completely backs that trend up. He’s a consistent rebounder that’s strong enough to earn position under the rim. This helps him pick up some pretty high percentage looks at the bucket, specifically off put backs. Hutter used to be a big with high upside. Now he’s more like an excellent post player that (lucky for college coaches) still has even more upside. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Hutter averages a double-double in points and rebounds this season.
