Vanlaningham isn’t just a steal. Adding him to a program would be similar to Hans Gruber getting the job done against John McClane. The young man has always been able to shoot with the best of them. But he also developed the ability to attack the rim off the bounce and finish it with authority. Vanlaningham has developed his offensive game very nicely and I really think that he will be excellent at the next level.

This must be statement #5365763 for Vanlaningham. The young man has been getting the job done at a high level for years now and will be a steal at the next level. He didn’t just score in a 67-60 win against Harper Creek, but he did it in an incredibly efficient manner. Vanlaningham finished with 29 points while shooting 50% from the field.

It feels like Vanlaningham’s name has been on copy and paste on my computer during grassroots season for 3 years. He continues to show that he can be a high level guard in college ball. If you take his total game as it currently stands, he’s mad it really tough to find a weakness. And don’t say athleticism because he’s underrated in that regard.

Vanlaningham is starting to get Division 1 looks, and it’s not by accident. The development of his game over the last 3 or so years has been a thing of beauty and a testament to the saying “bet on yourself”. Vanlaningham took that bet and he’s started cashing in on the earnings. He’s added dynamic finishing and ball skills to his elite shooting.

Vanlaningham has been getting more publicity over the last year, but honestly, he’s still probably underrated. He’s not just a shooter, but instead he proved again this weekend that he should be considered a true playmaker. Vanlaningham starred for Strictly Skills, averaging 17 points and 6 assists per game. I’d be shocked if some offers don’t come rolling in.

Yeah, this is why Mattawan won’t be an easy out this season. They have a couple very good and very talented players. In his team’s victory, Vanlaningham did Vanlaningham things. He showed one of the prettiest jumpers in the state as well as went at the rim on his way to a game high 29 points.
