BSM Fall League: Jack’s Standouts

He impressed me most with his playmaking ability, along with his scoring plays. He did a great job bringing the ball up the floor and making plays, driving by defenders leading to assists or buckets himself. The senior guard also knocked down some shots from the outside, showing off his smooth mechanics. He could not be stopped from scoring the ball in either matchup I saw him in. His shot making ability was on full display and he did it from all three levels. He connected with some very tough, unbalanced shots, including some contested fadeaways. He looked extremely confident shooting the ball and was finding great success in just about every way. He is such a smooth scorer and makes it look effortless when he is hot. He plays with elite confidence and was so hard to stop from attacking the rim, as well as stretching out to hit shots from beyond the arc. He is so tough to contest with his quick jump shot and ability to shoot while off balance. Farniok also had some nice drives, finishing with some acrobatic layups. The sophomore is very unselfish and has a pass-first mindset when he has the ball in his hands. This does not mean he can't score though, as he attacked the rim confidently, converting some tough finishes against larger defenders. Ware was also playing lock-down perimeter defense and made opposing ball handler's jobs very difficult. I think that he will fit perfectly into an Armstrong team that will be playing at a fast pace all season. He plays at his own pace and does not let his opponents speed him up or slow him down. He impressed me when getting to his spots and pulling up with some jump shots off the dribble. He moves very well on his feet defensively as well, playing some impressive on-ball defense. Ocharo will likely be the top scoring option for Apple Valley this upcoming season, as he will lead an inexperienced Eagle squad. The junior guard was getting his points in all types of ways and played with an edge that really stood out to me. He was never the tallest player on the floor, but attacked the offensive boards very well and that led to some second chance scoring opportunities for himself. He also had the role of bringing the ball up the floor for his team at times or did his part playing off-ball. As a freshman, he showed flashes of what kind of prospect he could blossom into as he gets more and more experience at the varsity level. He attacks the rim with no fear and is not afraid to shoot it from outside. He specifically impressed me with his mid-range pull-up game in a couple different instances.
