Moore was dominant in both games, scoring on the interior whenever he caught the ball inside of five feet. Moore has a great body and mobility to defend guards when he gets switched onto the perimeter. The most impressive play Moore made was when he had the ball with his back to the basket, made a pump-fake into a pivot and finished with the left hand. That’s a type of play that will translate to the next level. Expect Moore to take a big step as a Junior for a Marysville squad with some interesting returning talent.
Copley was heating up for his summer league squad that featured a trio from his Mid Ohio Pumas grassroots team. Between Copley, Jacob Roeth Jacob Roeth 6’1″ | PG Miami East | 2024 State OH and Bryson Baker Bryson Baker 6’0″ | SG Shelby | 2024 OH , this squad has talent and chemistry. Copley used his size well when he drove to the paint and got hot from the outside with 3-point makes off the catch and off the bounce. Look for Copley to be one of the top players in southeast Ohio as a Junior and stand out in a competitive SOC conference.
Highlights
Gallogly gets on this list because I absolutely loved the motor he played at all game. Despite being 6’3 and having a couple players taller than him on both teams, Gallogly easily led the game in rebounding and was getting loose balls on both ends. Gallogly also moved well without the basketball and got himself open. Despite having a cold shooting day from the outside, Gallogly helped his team on both ends and gets some deserved love here.
Miller was the leading scorer for his team as he worked well with Gallogly in a victory. Miller made some sweet moves to the basket with simple dribble moves and twice used the rim as protection when going up for a layup. I was impressed with how fluid Miller looked with the ball in his hands and his confidence from the mid-range also caught my eye. Expect Miller to be one of the top players in the MSL next season.
Minor stood out for a squad that besides one player all played together during the grassroots season. Their chemistry showed in the fall league as their ball movement was better than any others that I saw. Minor is a good athlete who’s capable of playing either forward position. Minor played with a good motor and finished around the basket with ease. I’d like to see if Minor can shoot it from the outside but he’s the new name who caught my eye the most on Saturday.
