is a player you can’t leave alone on the wing, and while that was true during the first round of the Phil Cox Memorial Tournament on Tuesday, I felt like he showed a little bit more of his game. The big thing I saw out of Packer was not only his high-level shot-making but also what he was doing on the defensive end. I thought he played some sticky defense as well as being super aggressive on the defensive glass. He added 10 points to go along with the great defense he showed last Tuesday.

At this point we know what this 6’3″ wing from South Bend Riley High School can do as a catch-and-shoot threat. That is what has had him on our radar for years. However, what is continuing to make him noticeable to college coaches is how he has expanded his game. He still shot it in from deep on Friday night, but he also found ways to score around the basket and in the intermediate range while also catching our attention as an active and versatile defender. Packer is one to check out for Indiana Attack Basketball Club 17u.

of South Bend Riley. Every time you see him on the floor, he always has his hands ready to shoot and when he gets a chance to fire off a shot, he shows great shooting mechanics and smooth release. He gets to his spots well and can really light it up from deep.

Every year Packer has continued to expand his game and now heading into his senior year at South Bend Riley High School he has rounded into a solid college prospect. The 6’3″ guard is still at his best as a high percentage catch-and-shoot shot maker, but he has really grown into a well-rounded scorer. Packer can put the ball on the floor and attack closeouts, use his positional size to score against smaller defenders, and even has flashed some playmaking ability for his teammates. Additionally, Packer is a very high academic prospect. Finishing the summer with Indiana Attack Basketball Club, Packer averaged 25.5 points per game last weekend will participate in GRBA Nationals this coming weekend in Fort Wayne.

Packer has really proved himself as a prospect this summer between his play on the grassroots circuit and with South Bend Riley High School. Playing next to an Indiana Junior All-Star, the 6’3″ sharpshooter plays his role well off of the ball. He is extremely accurate from beyond the arc, but Packer has also gotten very comfortable at attacking closeouts and finishing around the rim. Very high academic prospect as well. Definitely a three-point shot maker that small college programs should have on their radar.

Packer’s shooting ability is what has gotten him noticed in the past and is why he is already ranked just outside of the Top 100 in the Class of 2026. However, over the course of the weekend, the 6’3″ guard really used his size to be effective off of the bounce. He has a lot of opportunities to attack closeouts due to his shooting ability and he turned those into scoring opportunities at the rim. Packer had a team-leading 20 points in a loss to Fishers on Sunday.

The 6’3 wing out of South Bend Riley may be one of my favorite shooters in the entire state. Incredible smooth and always has his hands, feet, and entire body ready to shoot. Really good at scoring both and off the ball with elite smoothness. He is a small college dream when it comes to shooting.

As we mentioned earlier, there are a lot of players in this 70-150 range that you could really put into about any order. That is what makes rankings tough. We feel good about moving Packer up several spots though after watching him score 31 points in a contest at the Metro Indy Fall League. His shot-making ability, both from the mid-range and beyond the arc, really stood out. After a strong junior season at South Bend Riley don’t be surprised if he is a stock-riser once again down the road.

In arguably the most impressive individual performance of the day, Packer went off for 31 points in a game on Sunday evening. The 6’3″ guard had a stretch of second half possessions that saw him hit three different contest mid-range pull-ups. He was able to consistently get to his spots and has such a pure shooting stroke. Look for a breakout junior season from him at South Bend Riley.

After leading the undefeated Penn freshman team in scoring last season, Packer made the move over to South Bend Riley High School for his sophomore season. The 6’3″ guard is a knockdown three-point shooter which he put on display recently at Session I of the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. Packer’s ability to stretch the floor will help him step into a role right away this winter at his new destination. High-upside perimeter prospect in the Class of 2026.
