We dive into the positional rankings. We now look at the combo guards for the sophomore class.
Here are the top-9 CG’s in the 2025 class:
Jeremiah Green Jeremiah Green 6'2" | CG Sunrise Christian Academy | 2025 #60 Nation KS AZ Compass Prep
One of the top athletes in the entire class. He flies on the break and seems to hang in the air with supreme body control. He can facilitate and score it from all three levels.
DeNali McNeal DeNali McNeal 6'3" | CG Canyon View | 2025 State AZ Canyon View
A natural scorer often plays the lead spot for his high school team. He makes the correct reads more times then not and fills it up many ways. He changes speeds to get into the lane and finishes at the rim with a nice layup package and his shooting is steadily improving.
Christion Fleming Christion Fleming 6'2" | CG Phhoenix Prep | 2025 State AZ Gilbert
A long newcomer will be called up on varsity and don’t be surprised if he is an immediate impact player. He shoots easily and will defend any position the Tigers need with his length and quickness.
Treyvion Curry Treyvion Curry 6'2" | CG Phhoenix Prep | 2025 State AZ Phhoenix Prep
A defensive dynamo plays on or off the ball. He has incredible lateral quickness and plays with a real motor to defend. He made strides as a perimeter shooter over the year with added range. He attacks off the bounce and will find cutters for assists.
Lex Clontz Lex Clontz 6'3" | CG Cesar Chavez | 2025 State AZ Cesar Chavez
The top shooter on the list from mid to the three point line. He has a fast trigger to get his shot off before the defenders close out. He rattles off triples and has started playing on the ball. He makes very good reads and decisions but he will definitely be putting the ball in the hole for the Champions.
Caden Bass Caden Bass 6'4" | CG Paragon Science Academy | 2026 State AZ Peoria
A long combo guard showed many flashes on varsity last year. He was a rare freshman starter and made an immediate splash. He defends many positions and makes shots from the perimeter. Once he gets stronger, he will be even tougher to contain.
Amare King Amare King 6'5" | CG Casteel | 2025 State AZ Casteel (Pictured)
A JV stud is moving up and will be put into the starting lineup. He will play a lot of the one and two. He grew two inches in the last year and will defend both guard positions and make shots from the arc.
David Franks David Franks 5'11" | CG Phhoenix Prep | 2025 State AZ Phhoenix Prep
Franks is all about speed, skill and athleticism. He is a known mid-range shooter but he has extended his range past the three point line. He is very fast in the open court and can flush it down on the break.
Rhys Walcott Rhys Walcott 5'10" | CG Eastmark | 2025 State AZ Eastmark
He may be the smallest in the group but he may be the top shot maker. He creates his own shots from mid to the three point line and gets high elevation to off set his size. He is tough and a true gamer.
