Earlier we looked at some of the great guards and great guard performances at the event. In Part 2, we will give you 10 more guards that starred at the event.

Aaron Allen Aaron Allen SG Hamtramck | 2022 State MI (2022, G, CTM Elite 17u, Hamtramck, MI)
Allen has a college ready frame that he uses really well on the defensive end. He can beat his man to a spot, extend his arms, and most players just weren’t strong enough or fast enough to turn the corner on him. Allen can defend the length of the floor as well. He showed the ability to hit the 3 on the offensive end.
Malakai Barclay (2023, G, REAL 2023, Homeschool, MI)
This was my first time evaluating Barclay and I liked what I saw. He was one of the better passers that I saw on Saturday, especially when he drove the lane, used a jump stop, and fired off an accurate pass to a shooter. Barclay showed a pretty spin move and finish in the lane as well.
Isaiah Bradford (2023, G, United Persuit 2023, Ottawa Hills, MI)
Bradford had a superstar backcourt mate in Atwater, but he definitely found his own way to shine. Bradford could attack the rim off the bounce with either hand and could finish with both as well. He ran the floor effectively both leading with the ball and filling the wing for a finish.
Kyler Cotton (2023, G, MBA Lakeshore 2023, Grand Haven, MI)
Cotton was a classic point guard. He kept the ball moving on the offensive end and created for himself and his teammates off the bounce. Cotton did a good job putting his defender on his hip and creating lanes to the rim.
Ramere Draper Ramere Draper 6'4" | CG Wyoming | 2022 State MI (2022, G, B3 Athletics 2023, Wyoming, MI)
Draper was an athletic scorer at Rumble In The Rapids. He was bouncy around the rim and he’d go from 0 to 20 points in no time. Draper scored at all 3 levels and shot at a pretty high clip.
Kenoly Jones Kenoly Jones 5'10" | PG Stevenson | 2022 State MI (2022, G, Supreme Elite 2023, Livonia Stevenson, MI)
Jones is a player that has impressed me for a while now. He’s a quick twitch guard that can score in so many different ways. Jones has incredible balance and can play the game at a fast pace.
Zachary Kroetsch Zachary Kroetsch 6'2" | PG Croswell-Lexington | 2023 State MI (2023, G, Michigan Cagers 2023, Croswell-Lexington, MI)
Kroetsch flaunted a very pretty stroke from deep. In a tight game on Saturday, he nailed 3 triples in under 2 minutes. Those shots played a big role in his team being in a winning position. If a college coach wants a lead guard that can fill it up, I’d advise them to look here.
Hershel Marion Hershel Marion 6'0" | SG Hamtramck | 2022 State MI (2022, G, CTM Elite 17u, Hamtramck, MI)
Marion is smaller and thinner framed, but that doesn’t stop him from being a force on the offensive end. He was incredibly consistent from behind the arc and seemed especially comfortable squaring up in the left corner. Marion was one of the more dangerous shooters and scorers at the event.
Julian Robinson (2023, G, Top1 Basketball Club 2023 Select, UD Jesuit, MI)
I was very impressed with the play of Julian Robinson. He was comfortable with the ball in his hands and could go either way with it. He was a solid finisher and facilitator over the course of the weekend.
Gabe Sweat Gabe Sweat 5'10" | PG Monroe | 2023 State MI (2023, G, LevelUp 2023, Monroe, MI)
College coaches, you might not want to let this young man fly under the radar. He was efficient with his handles, keeping his turnover numbers low. Sweat also showed the ability to get hot from behind the arc.
