Here are some really good shooters on Long Island.

[player_tooltip player_id="1392614" first="Brendan" last="Carr"] 6”1 2023 Northport

No doubt he can shoot the three coming off a screen. His hands are always ready to pull the trigger. Has a first step that enables to get to the rim. Has adjusted well to his transfer to Northport and downstate he previously played at Ossining. Has looked real good on the aau circuit and will be looked on as the first option most likely for Northport next season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1045689" first="Matt" last="Garside"] 5”11 2023 Kings Park

Won the spring three point contest besting some of the best shooters in the state, He is already a top player on Long Island. An outstanding stroke. Never seems to be out of rhythm a very repeatable form. Excellent rotation and a nice follow through.

[player_tooltip player_id="1360160" first="David" last="Debusshere"] 5”10 2023 Chaminade

Yes the name is familiar but this young man can flat out shoot it. He can come off the dribble handoff and drill the three. He is really good of using his handle to get off his own shot a lot of times with a step back three.

[player_tooltip player_id="1392615" first="Matt" last="Kalfas"] 5”10 2023 Calhoun

A smaller guard, however his ability to get off his shot is impressive. When you watch him play he does everything well. Not only is he a lights out shooter, he competes at a high level. Excellent rotation on his jumper. Really good from the top of the key. Defenders play him tight coming off of screens and he still manages to lose them and get off his shot.

Issac Varghese 6”0 2023 Jericho

He possesses a deadly step back three off the bounce. Can flat out score the ball. When he is on, he scores from deep range in bunches. Has a real nice rotation on his jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id="1392618" first="Nate" last="Gordon"] 6”2 2023 Deer Park

Deer Park has had some really good shooters over the years so when Coach tells me Nate is our best pure shooter I listen and watch. Coming off a down screen or popping out without the ball he is ready to drill it. A player who will be called upon this coming season to be that second scorer and take some pressure off of [player_tooltip player_id="1195583" first="Preston" last="Edmead"]. From what we’ve seen Nate should come through and be a major contributor for the Falcons. Has been very good on the event circuit.

[player_tooltip player_id="1392625" first="Jaylen" last="Brown"] 6”0 2023 Baldwin

Might not be as well known has the above players but it is time to know him. Playing behind some talented seniors he was called upon to come in and drain threes. He succeeded with his job, However Jalen is a complete player he can get to the rim, and also handle it. During the season and now during the circuit season he is improving each time you see him.
