Gabe Cupps Gabe Cupps 6'1" | PG Centerville | 2023 State #80 Nation OH (2023) – PG 6’2 – Centerville – Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB 17u
Gabe Cupps Gabe Cupps 6'1" | PG Centerville | 2023 State #80 Nation OH wins you basketball games and championships. He is a kid you watch when you trying to learn how to play basketball. He got to the rim very well this weekend showing off the ability to finish with either hand and with bigger players in the paint. Does a great job at jabbing a defender off balance. Took multiple charges and was great at controlling the game all weekend.
Marlon Barnes Jr. Marlon Barnes Jr. 6'6" | SF Brush | 2023 State #161 Nation OH Jr (2023) – G 6’6 – Brush – Wildcat Select 3SSB 17u
Barnes is a player. He is 6’6 with very good length and athleticism. Type of kid that can do it all athletically. I really liked the skill and shooting he showed off as well this weekend. He showed some very nice touch when getting to the lane and around the rim. He got it going from deep in the game I saw him play and it made him virtually unguardable. Very pretty stoke and shoots it very well off the bounce. Nice moves when he puts on the ground.
Marcus Johnson (2026) – PG 6’1 – Garfield Heights – Wildcat Select 3SSB 15u
Johnson is playing up for Wildcats Select 15u but that doesn’t show at all as in the two games I saw he was by far their leading scorer. He has a very smooth and quick jumper that is lethal if you give him any space. Johnson also has unlimited range making him incredibly tough to guard. He has a very tight handle on the ball and a plethora of moves to go along with it. Gets great separation with his change of speed and quickness. He also showed some nice hands defensively at points as well this weekend. Long point guard with some very nice athleticism that will continue to be added to as he gets older.
Quinn Woidke (2025) – G 6’0 – St. Ignatius – Ohio Buckets Christie 15u
Woidke is a player. He is a bucket that has a very nice mid-range game. Makes tough shots off the dribble and plays extremely hard. Quick jumper. He is a very nice finisher as he has good touch around the rim. Tough kid. Great competitor. Lead his Buckets team to a comeback win over Wildcat Select. Made the 25 points in that game look easy.
Donovan Hunter Donovan Hunter 6'7" | PF Spire | 2023 State OH (2023) – F 6’8 – Westerville Central – Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB 17u
Hunter was impressive all weekend for Midwest. Very nice size and strength. He is a good finisher and does it through contact well. Has good patience and footwork in the paint. He won’t blow you away with athleticism but understands angles and how to get to the basket very well. I was very impressed with Hunter’s jumper. Was knockdown all weekend long and hit big time threes.
