Welcome to Part 2 in our look at teams that are taking home titles!
CALVIN CHRISTIAN
Calvin Christian’s impressive season earned them a OK Silver championship. The team features a talented roster including players like Carson DeHaan, Brady Haisma and Matt Elderkin Matt Elderkin 6'5" | SF Grandville Calvin Christian | 2024 State MI .
FREELAND
Freeland battled all season and walked away with a Tri-Valley Conference East championship. Players like stat sheet stuffer Bryson Huckaby and the super consistent Josh Elliott Josh Elliott SG Freeland | 2022 State MI played a huge role in the title run.
KENT CITY
Kent City played high quality basketball, winning the CSAA Silver title. They were led by players like Kyler Larson Kyler Larson 5'9" | PG Kent City | 2023 State MI , who is a rising sophomore point guard that can score as well as set the table for his teammates.
MUSKEGON
Muskegon sent a big time message this season, battling their way to an OK Green title. They feature a very talented and very deep lineup. Players like Ethan Hill, Jordan Briggs, Anthony Sydnor, Stanley Cunningham, M’khi Guy, and Devin Bartee were all critical to their team’s success. They have terrific athletes and high IQ players all over their team.
ONSTED
Onsted was excellent on both ends of the floor and it led to them taking home an LCAA title. Dayton Henagan Dayton Henagan 6'2" | CG Onsted | 2022 State MI was a terrific floor general and leader that could set the offense and get buckets whenever needed. Ayden Davis Ayden Davis 6'9" | C Onsted | 2024 State MI dominated the paint with his nice footwork and showed why he is considered one of the elite post prospects in the class of 2024.
TRILLIUM
Trillium’s players were focused on championships this season, and they came away with the Michigan Metro Athletic Conference championship. Juniors Damaryon Fishburn Damaryon Fishburn 6'4" | CG Trillium Academy | 2023 State MI and Tayshawn Nathan led the way with superior athleticism and playmaking abilities. Fishburn can play on or off the ball and score from all 3 levels, while Nathan is a terror when finishing in the open floor.
