MVP: Nick Robinson PCW
Robinson came out hot early as he hit two threes in the first quarter. Robinson’s 11 first half points were huge in stopping McGuinness momentum.
The Memphis football commit was too athletic and physical for BM to stop which led to his 18 points.
Best Offensive Performance: Mason Webb McGuinness
Webb was the best player on the floor Tuesday night. West threw multiple defenders at him but Webb continued to get to his spots for his jumper.
Unfortunately, Webb’s 17 point performance couldn’t get past PCW’s lead from beginning to end.
Best Defensive Performance: Marquis Gatewood PCW
Gatewood is athletic and most importantly 6’7. West has a simple role for Gatewood and Tuesday night he excelled in those responsibilities.
The 2018 big man had 5 blocks and did a great job of rebounding on both ends. His length was pivotal in making BM a jump shooting team who avoided the paint for the most part.
Best shooter: Mason Webb McGuinness
Webb took a while to get going not scoring a single point in the first quarter. He responded with a 10 point second quarter which kept BM in the game.
Webb was impressive scoring the ball considering the tough and active PCW defenders that were all over him.
Best player off the bench: MJ Warrior PCW
Warrior is a freshman but you wouldn’t be able to tell. Warrior scored 8 points off the bench and hit a big jumper which destroyed BM momentum.
Warrior has a “Micah Speight” type of ora about him. From his swagger to his production.
Best rebounder: Marquis Gatewood PCW
Gatewood was the biggest player on the floor and he capitalized on that and dominated the glass.
Best young prospect: MJ Warrior PCW
Warrior was one of the better players on the floor and he has a bright future for the Patriots.
Biggest storyline going forward: Gerren Jackson PCW
You may have notice Gerren Jackson’s name hasn’t been mentioned. Jackson is not playing to his full capability right now.
Jackson has the ability to score with the best of them but he is playing passive and the scoring load is being pushed on Nick Robinson and Greg Thomas.
For the Patriots to defend their title, 2016′ Gerren Jackson needs to show up and show out.
