The Battle matched them up with Mikey Williams and Vertical Academy and Marvel Allen and Calvary Christian. Both games featured rosters full of Division 1 prospects with Sierra Canyon winning both games by double figures. Here are 4 of the standouts.
Mike Price Mike Price 6'2" | PG Corona Centennial | 2023 State #162 Nation CA-S CG 2023 | Slashing Playmaker | Biggest Stock Riser
Price had two stock-altering performances in a national pre-season showcase. He played well against two elite backcourt facing highly ranked guards in his class coming out with double-digit scoring in both matchups. Price has size and mass on his frame well. He’s a crafty finisher around the basket with great body control and touch on his floaters. When defense gives him space, he can knock down shots beyond the arc. He can play on and off the ball, something that will help him when Sierra Canyon is fully healthy with Amari Bailey Amari Bailey 6'4" | SF Sierra Canyon | 2022 State #2 Nation CA-S running the show. The way he controls the game as a lead ball-handler is will change the pace and give the Trailblazers several looks during the season. Mike Price Mike Price 6'2" | PG Corona Centennial | 2023 State #162 Nation CA-S was unranked by 247Sports and only on our watch list before this event he’s now 63rd in the country.
Isaiah Elohim PG 2024 | Two-Way Athlete
Elohim isn’t your typical underclassman. It’s not just because of his top 5 rankings for his class, it’s his measurable. He’s a long 6’4 guard with obvious muscle tone and a wingspan that makes scouts drool. Already a stout test player that can guard the point of attack and switch on to multiple perimeter positions. He’s an aggressive athlete that excels downhill and finishes above the rim with ease even when dunking off vertical. It’ll be hard for guards to keep him off the boards, much like what happened in Miami. He’s already showing flashes of being a lead guard that can make plays for himself and others. Sierra Canyon has locked in a big guard that’ll lead the way for the next few years.
Kijani Wright Kijani Wright 6'8" | PF Sierra Canyon | 2022 State #63 Nation CA-S C 2022 | Finisher
Wright looks primed for a big senior season while being physically ready to step on the floor for USC today. The Battle matched him up with similar size against Calvary Christian and Vertical Academy producing against mid and high major bigs. The senior ran the floor, finished with dunks around the rim, and flat out hustled. Wright may be a bit undersized for a center and doesn’t stretch the floor the way you want a modern four to, but the size he holds makes him a magnet for rebounds on both sides of the floor.
Tim Rudovskiy F 2023 | Big Shooter
Sierra Canyon’s newest sniper is going to draw attention because of his obvious size and length. His shooting will draw defenses and the attention his frame draws will turn to offers. Rudovskiy shot 5 of 10 from 3 this weekend with mixed results. On Saturday, he made 1 of his 4 attempts. On Sunday, he lit it rain with 4 of six made shots from deep. He’s more of a catch-and-shoot threat for his team with wing and corner threes likely being his bread and butter this season. Outside of stellar shooting, the 6’9 junior looks to have a decent handle in space is a solid decision-maker, and has enough length to force turnovers.
