In this series we’ll take a look at the top performers in each of the class games and in this piece we’ll break down the current freshmen who participated.
Josh Palmer, 2025, St. Bernard – Palmer is the son of current UCLA assistant coach Rod Palmer and plays like he’s been around the game for a long time. The wiry 6-foot guard plays with great pace and has a nice feel for the point guard position. Palmer operates with a high basketball IQ, has great instincts as a passer, and doesn’t dominate the ball.
Jovani Ruff, 2025, Long Beach Poly – We came away very impressed with Ruff’s polished offensive skill-set. At 6-feet-3 (and climbing) wing plays with a pace and smoothness that is well beyond his years. Ruff has a balanced three-point and mid-range jumper and covers tons of ground with limited dribbles when attacking and scoring at the rim.
Parker Steffen, 2025, Rancho Christian – Steffen seemed to always be in attack mode on the break. The 5-foot-10 guard was smart when pushing the tempo and taking advantage of open driving lanes in transition. Steffen got to the rim multiple times throughout his game and can finish through contact or over length. He’s also a capable three-point shooter off the catch.
Moses Wright, 2025, Santa Clarita Christian – Wright is the younger brother of stud 2023 guard Maurice Wright Maurice Wright 6'2" | CG Santa Clarita Christian | 2023 State CA-S and will be a prospect to track over the next four years. Wright has a wiry 6-foot-3 frame and plays with great energy and a little bounce in his step which manifests itself in him being a high rate rebounder and versatile defender. Wright worked hard on the offensive glass and created a ton of second chance opportunities for his teammates.
