Charlie impressed on opening night, helping lead his Minnesota Fury team to a win over NEBC. Had a pair of plays where he showcased his explosiveness off two feet, cutting backdoor and elevating for a pair of alley-oop dunks. At 6’4 not many guys have the ability to elevate off two feet like Charlie can. Throughout the game he pulled in rebounds, defended wings and posts, and attacked the rim at a high level. Excelled at taking a dribble hand-off and getting downhill where he was then able to finish on-balance at the rim. Flashed range beyond the arc as well.

Charlie Bern Charlie Bern 6'4" | PF East Ridge | 2024 State MN has been so consistent any time I’ve watched this Fury team play. Starting off with the pair of highlight reel dunks, where he slashes in from the wing and comes out of nowhere to throw it down with two hands. He’s in the 99th percentile of explosive athletes in Minnesota when it comes to vertical off two feet. I was also impressed with how he was able to turn the corner off a dribble hand-off and get downhill quickly to go and finish off one or two feet. Has excellent body control in the air allowing him to finish at a high level even in traffic. Looks even more comfortable as a catch-and-shoot threat from three as well. Defensively able to guard a bit bigger than his size because of how physical he is.

Charlie was highly productive in both games I watched him play over the weekend. With his physical attributes he’s able to bounce around the 3 and 4 spots, and was able to dominate around the rim. Whether he was posting up, getting offensive boards, or cutting hard off the ball, he just found ways to get touches in or around the paint. Had a few highlight plays where he cut back door and exploded off the floor for alley-oop dunks. One of the most explosive two-foot leapers you’ll find in Minnesota.

Charlie is such an imposing presence in the paint as at 6’4 he has a blend of physical strength and explosive leaping ability that you don’t often see. If he caught anywhere near the basket he was able to power his way to the rim and finish at such a high level in the matchup with Gain Elite. When he wasn’t bullying defenders in the paint Charlie showed he can step outside and knock down 3’s when left open. Defensively he guards a lot bigger than his size because of how strong he is down low, but can also move his feet with similar sized players on the wing.
