Although many clubs play at different levels they all tend to have talent. There have also been more and more high schools functioning like club teams as they play in different events under a name similar to the high school they attend.
Familiar Clubs
Utah has a rich history of well known clubs, some have been around since day one of the club scene and some have made a name for themselves in a short time.
Salt Lake Metro is one of the oldest clubs in the state if not the oldest and they field players from North to South and everywhere in-between and they compete in some great showcases across the country. The Salt Lake Rebels have had a great track record at placing players at the next level as they also house players from all over the state. Utah Hard Knox is back as they took some time off and they usually do a great job of developing players. They usually get players in Northern Utah and they can all usually shoot the ball well. UBC is another club that has been around for awhile but not sure how many or if any teams will be filled at the high school level.
Newer Clubs
There have been new clubs that have been seen across the state but also at various events across the state. Here is a short list of clubs that are newer on the scene.
Impressed with Kongo that is housed out in Davis County. they seem to be able to get players from that area but they also pull kids from Salt Lake as well. Salt Lake Bounce is another new club that did a great job of developing talent. This is another club that might not field high school teams this year. FINAO is another club that is based out of West Valley that competes in events in state mostly. Mountain City is a new club that will field some young teams but keep and eye on them as well. JM Elite will field a team that is predominately made of unsigned senior. They will only have a 17U team. Club V is a new club we are still getting to know.
Others
Cache Valley Elite is another club that pulls players from Northern Utah as they compete in various local events and in attached states. Phenom Factory has been around and they tend to play in local events but they usually have players that compete. Utah Force has some great players that play in the Salt Lake Valley.
3 Clubs to Know
When it comes to some of the best players in the state these three clubs have their fair share of talent. No disrespect to other clubs, we are just spotlighting clubs that seem to have some of the top talent before they are unsigned seniors.
The Utah Prospects have been the only shoe sponsored program in the state as they are playing in the Adidas 3SSB Circuit. They have been able to develop and help players reach the Division 1 level at a consistent clip. Jimmer Elite is another club that plays at a high level as they have played in some Under Armour Future events. They usually have a few foreign players on their team that have been placed to play here in Utah. Utah Premier is a respectable program that does a great job of running a program that has talent and develops. A lot of their players that aren’t signed end up jumping on other teams their senior year.
Notes:
There will be a lot of teams that we missed but we will try and make sure we cover everyone and their players.
