Expert Analysis
Jay Anderson | Prep Hoops Scout
Hammond is healthy and proving to be a consistent piece in The Burlington School frontcourt as they’re on a three-game winning streak and 13-7 on the season. He’s producing 15.2 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and 2.1 assists per contest and remains a target for DII programs to get on their radar given his size, activity and ability to make plays for others as a stretch-forward. He nearly didn’t miss in their last victory, going 8-for-9 from the field and 1-for-1 from behind the arc with 21 points, seven rebound, three blocks and two assists in their last victory over Holly Springs. Look for him to be a factor in their quest for an NCISAA State Title.

Hammond is a big man prospect who’s starting to put it all together for The Burlington School as they look to make noise in the NCISAA State Playoffs this season. He finished with back-to-back double-doubles in victories over Providence Day School and JL Chambers High at the Phenom Hoops George Lynch Invitational. He put up 16 points and 12 rebounds against Providence Day and 17 points and 15 rebounds on 7-of-8 shooting from the field against JL Chambers High. He’s a sleeper in the 2025 class in North Carolina well on his way to making noise on the recruiting trail with the Spartans off to a 5-2 start to the 2024-25 season.

is a 6’8″ power forward with a ton of upside. He’s a versatile prospect who is continuing to improve his fundamentals and polish his outside shot. Unfortunately for Hammond, injury caused some time on the sidelines in 2023. This guy is a hard worker with a get-after-it mentality whose basketball IQ and rare skillset override any doubt from injury. Hammond is a mis-match down low and can create open looks for himself and his teammates. He’s consistent from the line which is crucial for a guy that gets fouled often in the paint. The next step in Hammond’s game is developing a three-point shot. This will add yet another level of depth and uncertainty to his game that will cause defenders to be unsure how to guard him. With one high school season left with a lot to prove, expect

Hammond is another name to keep an eye on with Team Charlotte on the UAA stage this weekend. He’s a versatile forward who can create matchup problems with his perimeter game while remaining a factor in the painted area defensively. He’s returning from injury but as he regains his health, his recruitment should grow as well.

Hammond came up just short of a double double in Team Charlotte ‘s Friday night contest against B. Maze Elite, posting 11 points and 9 rebounds while playing against a physical and talented frontcourt on the other side of the court. A physical guy himself, he’s not someone who’s going to play above the rim or dazzle athletically, but has good size and good footwork down on the low block. He’s got good touch and feel as well, not being sped up and trying to hit home runs, but looking to make the simple play. Solid defender and can hold his ground consistently.

Hammond is due for a strong junior season in The Burlington School frontcourt following his productive EYBL outing on the grassroots stage. He averaged 7.7 PPG and 5.0 RPG on 62.5 percent shooting from the field with Team CP3 this past spring/summer. Look for him to emerge as a two-way presence in the NCISAA with the Spartans in 2023-24.

is a name to get to know in NC’s 2025 class given his pedigree at the center/forward spot. He’s shown he can come in off the bench and be a spark in a variety of ways with Team CP3 on the EYBL scene this summer. With a nice shooting stroke and solid mobility, he’s a 6-foot-8 prospect for college programs at the D1 level to get to know this season at The Burlington School as they look to win another title.

has emerged as quite the anchor in the paint on the grassroots scene with Team CP3. He’ll look to translate that to his play with The Burlington School as his junior season approaches with the Spartans coming off an NCISAA State Championship. He’s a got a solid feel as a stretch-forward when needed and paint finisher when needed with solid mobility to do both and pose matchup problems in the process. He’s a name for LM and MM programs in the region to get eyes on along with DII programs as the fall season approaches.
