I became very appreciative of this young man’s game last season. Very underrated last year. This year he has superstar written all over his game. We all know he can shoot, but in this game, he was so adept working the baselines and driving the lane, that he didn’t really even need his jumper. Richards did a great job of getting a step on his defenders, sealing them, and finishing off both 1 and 2 feet.

Richards is a supremely talented player that could light up the City Slam. He may have had one of the most underrated high school season last year. Richards was flat out electric. He was terrific with the ball and created buckets.

I don’t think his number changed much, but man did he show out this season. College coaches need to get game film on this young man ASAP. In my opinion, you can stack up Richards game with the best in the state. He has a ton of versatility in the backcourt which I think is just turning him into a very balanced lead guard at the next level. Richards can handle the ball with the best and can excel in a physical game.

The Richards and Benard backcourt went off yesterday. Richards led the way with a dynamic 31 points. He was an influence on both ends of the floor, also snagging 6 steals.
