Cam Gillus Cam Gillus 5'10" | PG Sidwell Friends | 2023 State MD was probably the most valuable player in this game. The class of 2023 lead guard offers a sense of security as a primary ball-handler. Gillus was active defensively. He recorded one steal and added a block to go along with multiple deflections. Gillus scored the ball at will today, and he did so in an efficient manner from various areas on the floor. He was also responsible for making a handful of free throws in pressure situations down the stretch.
Ryan Cornish Ryan Cornish 6'3" | CG Sidwell Friends | 2021 State MD continues to add new elements to his game. The Dartmouth commit controlled this game on offense with his passing. There was one assist specifically where Cornish rewarded one of his bigs for running the floor that was sublime. He also took one of his trademark on-ball charges to ice the game with his team up by 2 in need of a stop.
Chad Watson barely missed a shot in this game. The class of 2021 guard is a tremendous floor spacer who knows how to attack closeouts and create room in tight quarters. Watson’s IQ for the game translates to the defensive end where he is alert off the ball and stout at the point of attack.
Trey Nelson’s passing repertoire is something to behold. He can deliver the ball accurately in so many different ways depending on how the defense is playing. Nelson’s understanding of where the ball needs to go and when it needs to get there simply can’t be taught. He should also be commended for stepping up and taking a charge from a help position in this game.
Chris Gamble Chris Gamble 6'1" | CG Sidwell Friends | 2022 State MD ’s impact on this game, particularly on the offensive end, should not be understated. One of the things he loves to do is get in the post against smaller defenders and go to work. That’s exactly what Gamble did today. He once again showed today that his footwork, strength, and craftiness around the basket can be difficult for foes to deal with.
