Kernan Bundy, 6’2 G, Blue Valley North
Bundy put together two great performances on Sunday showing his wide variety of offensive skills. He is great at punishing defenders once he gets them on his hip and getting up quick to the rim to avoid shot blocking or low hands from help side defenders. In the up and down flow of the games this weekend, Bundy was able to score in bunches in transition at the rim and with transition threes both on pull ups and kick ahead passes while he was running his lane. He is paired with his Blue Valley running mate Nikko Taylor Nikko Taylor 6'6" | SF Blue Valley North | 2021 State KS , and Bundy was great at dropping off dump down passes to him off of drives and on pick and roll situations.
Harrison Braudis Harrison Braudis 6'1" | PG Stillwell | 2021 State KS , 6’1 G, Bishop Miege
Getting off to a hot start would be an understatement for how Braudis started his Fall League campaign. Braudis in game 1 scored the first 7 points of the game and finished with 15 for his team. He knocked down a couple threes throughout the day but he made his living getting into the paint and making plays. Braudis played under control on his drives with tremendous poise and was very rarely caught in tough situations when he was attacking. The athleticism, change of pace, multiple ways of finishing, and tempo pushing ability he posses really showed in his first weekend of play.
Alston Mason Alston Mason 6'2" | CG Blue Valley Northwest | 2021 State KS , 6’1 Guard, Blue Valley Northwest
One of the top play makers of the weekend, Mason displayed a great mixture of scoring and distributing. In his two games, he was put in a lot of isolation situations and operated with a high efficiency out of them, using a quick jab step or cross over to get guys out of position which led to him scoring at the rim, drawing fouls, or making the right read and hitting kick outs. He utilized the shooters on his team well which is a great skill to have that paired great with his ability to get downhill and draw help. Mason’s quick hands benefited him well on Sunday on both ends of the floor with a couple of on ball and passing lane steals that allowed him to get into transition.
Christian Bowen-Webb Christian Bowen-Webb 6'2" | CG Bishop Miege | 2022 State KS , 6’2 G, Bishop Miege
Bowen-Webb put up some points on Sunday, and they came from all over the floor in a variety of ways. What stood out the most in his two games, was his ability to get into rhythm on his jump shots off of the bounce, hitting multiple pull up jumpers coming off of cross over moves, hard one dribble pull ups, and pull up threes in transition. He has great size and is strong, and his strength showed on a couple of tough finishes off of contested drives playing in the half court. A skill that is often overlooked that was noticed this weekend with his game is his balance when playing off of two feet in the paint, especially from the guard spot.
Connor Arment, 5’10 G, Barstow High School
Arment was one of the hardest playing and toughest guards I saw all weekend on both ends of the floor. On the defensive side, he slid in front of his defenders beating them to the spot on multiple occasions taking charges right in the chest, his on ball defense was tremendous. He complimented his outstanding defensive play by knocking down multiple three point shots in both games, hitting the pick and pop and pick roll man, kicking the ball ahead to open guys in transition, and showed his has the capability of being a guard you can count on the get to attack off the bounce when he is playing off of screens. Looking ahead, Arment could be in for a big time fall and winter season.
Jack Bachelor, 5’11 G, Washburn Rural
The clear standout guard from Saturday’s games, the 2023 guard put on a show for the gym in his final game of the day. He showcased again his tremendous three point shooting ability that he originally put on notice this past summer. Bachelor by no means is just a spot up shooter, in both games he displayed an ability to attack hard closeouts in the half court and guys flying buy in transition, making them pay by either getting all the way to rim or getting the ball high and soft on floaters. Everything Bachelor does with his ball handling is very smooth and purposeful, with very little wasted moves or bounces.
