Cham is set to receive a healthy bump in the rankings update and it wasn't only because his loud weekend at Spooky Nook. The 6'5"-6'6" wing has steadily taken strides with his game over the last 4-to-5 months and will be one of my candidates to not only be a breakout prospect in the Baltimore County Public School sector, but the Baltimore Metro Area as a whole. Head coach Will Watts has done a great job of developing talent at Overlea even when that means starting the process with the players on the JV level. His combination of size, shooting and athleticism are all qualities that'll allow him to be a scholarship prospect at the collegiate level. All of these traits were displayed this past weekend and his 22.5PPG can attest to that. His scoring came in a variety of ways. Knocking down three's off elevator screens, sticking shots as the trailier in transition or pursuing the offensive glass. For the numbers that he posted, his efficiency within his dribbles are excellent. Look for Cham's name to trend this season in the area as he continues to turn the corner within his development and maturation process.

Hall shines with this Theodore Roosevelt (DC) squad as a primary initiator and he brings a refreshing balance of scoring and distributing as he relies on his above average feel. Head coach Rob Nickens has surrounded Hall with other capable scorers and unselfish players who knows how to cut/react off Hall's actions. He uses his lengthy first stride and wiry frame to make it tough on smaller defenders and being the threat of a three-level scorer that he is, it causes opposing coaches to base their defensive schemes completely around him. I expect Theodore Roosevelt to be a power in the DC Public School landscape despite there being a few other programs who have made a big jump since last season.

Nash backed his No. 1 rankings in a loud fashion. Spalding was without quite a bit of their rotational pieces on Sunday considering they're dual-sport athletes (football), but Avery's special talent was more than enough to lift the Cavs to two double-digit victories over Lincoln Prep (CAN) and Gillion Academy Black (VA). His dominance was on full display against the Canadian program as he went a double-double of 28PTS and 15REBS. The freedom he'll have this season as a grab-and-go guy is evident. Maneuvering through defenders in transition and if the driving lane is available, quickly exploiting it before taking off and slamming highlight reel dunks. The touch away from the rim continues to improve as he buried a few three's on the day and he was getting to his 1-to-2 dribble pull up in a compact fashion with balance. As long as the motor is running high, there's no question that Avery is not only one of top prospects in the region, but also a legitimate top-40 talent nationally.

This Mount Carmel team will take on a completely new look this season with the infusion of international prospects, but the core of the rotation from last year's MIAA A Conference championship roster is back and that includes Williams, who has shown consistent signs of emerging as a top option in the backcourt as a scorer. There's plenty of balance within the Cougars' attack, but for Williams to hover around 10-13PPG on efficient scoring numbers will be key for his team to make another run at the league title. While the efficiency from deep could've been better, I liked the confidence and the way he went about his business offensively. There's an emphasis in the half court to run sets through and slow the pace down. Seeing a guy like Williams who has thrived in the open floor, up-tempo style be able to process in the half court both on and off the ball allows for a much better evaluation when looking how he fits at the collegiate level.

It seems like every time I see Raue he gets taller. Standing a legit 6-foot-6 now with a nice wingspan and improved athleticism, the two things going forward for Raue as a long-term prospect will be putting on mass to his frame and becoming more of a fluid athlete. This St. Andrew's group has a strong 2028 class and Raue is the straw that will stir the drink, but the addition of [player_tooltip player_id='2194784' first='Kaiden' last='Argueta'], [player_tooltip player_id='2731740' first='Ivan' last='Ansong'] and Tim Zubatyuk will all play valuable roles in their chances of making a run in the MAC this season. Raue averaged 14.5PPG as they split their games on Sunday with a win over Canada Top Flight and a two-point loss to a tough Polaris Prep (CAN) team.
