NW HoopSource HS Fall League Weekend 3 – Top Performers (II)

HoopSource HS Fall League had a number of varsity games at Reynolds High Schoool and Ramsay Neu had the opportunity to catch some action. Here are some of the top performers.

Reports written by Ramsay Neu

With [player_tooltip player_id='2132836' first='Avery' last='Johnson'] out for the Bowman, they needed someone to step up and take the scoring load for the weekend. Dresser did just that, shooting from anywhere. With a multitude of logo 3's and larger frame, Dresser simply out shot the Beaverton to lead Sherwood to victory in their first game. Dresser could be a dangerous option for a Sherwood team trying to once again top the Pacific conference.

When Khyungra was on the court, he could not be stopped. Whatever the opposing defense thought at him he would adapt, going between defenders legs, pulling up for some of the toughest 3 point looks I saw all weekend, or just doing straight tom foolery that somehow led to a bucket. He's a wizard with the basketball and his success will continue at La Salle this year.

If I wasn't aware going into the game Sideris was a freshman, I would have no idea. A blur in the open court, he got to the rim at will, blowing past any defender. His best play came when he got downhill and elevated for a dunk, making the whole gym go gasp. Look for Sideris to get immediate minutes as a freshman for the returning juggernaut that is Nelson.

Mikhail shot the ball really well for the Apollos, constantly on the recieveing end of drive and kicks. He also showed off his pull up game, sizing his man up and pulling up with the ball above his head to hit shots effortlessly. Look for him to do more ball handling for the Apollos this year when not sharing the floor with thier other guards.

Whenever West Linn was in need of a bucket, it seemed Mason was there to bail them out. Standing at 6'6 possessing a smooth jump shot, Mason is a weapon from the outside. With some muscle on him, he also helped West Linn crash the glass. The transfer from Wilsonville could play a big part on a West Linn team trying to retake the Three Rivers title.

Even as a freshman Peterson has the build of a football player. He excels at getting to the basket, and already is a great decision maker for his age. His best play came when he chased down an opposing La Salle player, smacking it against the back wall in Reynolds main gym. Look for Peterson to start immediately on a Jefferson team that looks great this fall.
