In one of his first tournaments back from injury, Mason looked good in the action we saw of him playing with Players Only at the tournament. Playing up at 17U at the West Coast Spring Showcase, the sophomore was rim-running for buckets both off the pass and off offensive rebound putbacks, and in the halfcourt setting he was also strong with his back-to-the-basket game and face-up drives to the hoop. He noted that he’ll be at West Linn next year.

Mason presents another tough matchup inside at 6’6, using his size and strength to consistently pressure the defense. He finished with 18 points, attacking the rim with confidence and embracing contact in the paint. Mason also showed the ability to handle the ball effectively for his size, adding versatility to his inside presence and making him a difficult cover in half-court sets.

Mason enters into the rankings after being previously listed on the watchlist. He’s started some games early on for Wilsonville, showing the ability to score inside as well as step out and hit perimeter jumpers. Consistency will be the key for him to continue advancing up the board with his vast potential as a frontcourt prospect.

Mason impressed with his versatility, scoring both inside and out while finishing tough plays through contact. The patience and steady approach of the Wilsonville sophomore on both ends gave him a complete, well-rounded presence on the floor. (AG)
