Border League Evaluations: Top Performers 3

Border League brought some of the best high school programs in the country to Las Vegas, and the talent matched the stage. From national powers, every court had prospects worth watching.   After three days of evaluations, a handful of players separated themselves with how they create, score and impact winning. These are the top performers who stood out most from Border League weekend. More to come!    Lead guard who initiates offense and plays downhill. He attacks gaps, collapses the defense and finds shooters on the kick-out, and he can punish a defense that sags by stepping into threes, including in transition. He plays with toughness, embraces contact and chases his own misses on the glass, which says a lot about his motor and competitiveness. He's a guard who wants the ball in big moments.     Evans brings a strong, physical frame and a versatile skill set to the wing. He's a slasher who uses spin moves, a high pickup and the euro-step to get into the lane, and he finishes through contact. He's comfortable bringing the ball up and organizing the offense, he gets out and runs in transition, and he does real work on the glass, turning offensive rebounds into putbacks. For a 2029 prospect, the combination of physicality and ball skills pop.     A perimeter guard with deep range. He's comfortable on catch-and-shoot threes and keeps the ball moving within the offense, and he's quick to push the pace and ignite the break off turnovers. Defensively, he brings tight on-ball pressure and active hands, which fits right into Centennial- Corona. His shooting and tempo make him a valuable piece in a fast system.     The two-way wing who impacts the game on both ends. Defensively, he applies heavy on-ball pressure and has great anticipation in passing lanes, and he turns steals into transition baskets in a hurry. Offensively, he creates his own shot off the dribble and is comfortable rising into mid-range pull-ups, and he attacks the rim with strength, finishing through contact. He rebounds well from the wing and pushes the pace himself.     Tough, downhill guard who plays with a physical edge. He has a quick first step, attacks the paint in straight lines and is willing to take contact at the rim. A capable catch-and-shoot threat, he forces defenders to close out, which opens his driving lanes. Defensively, he's physical at the point of attack, with active hands and quick feet on the ball. He sets the tone with his toughness and competitive edge.
